I have a question regarding the Hunter keyword and its effects for Predator X, Wolverine, and Stepford Cuckoos specifically. All 3 of these cards are non-specific in nature regarding their effects. The specific issue we had of this was one player had a Leader character surrounded by his 3 other characters in play. There were 3 of us playing Vs. One opponent tagged this player's Leader as Hunted and had Stepford Cuckoos in play, reducing all of this person's characters' defense by 3. The question is: when I attack (not being the opponent who declared the Leader as Hunted) would the same defense drop apply? I am reading it as yes, as "Hunted by you" is an identifier of which character and the predicate of the Cuckoos description has no specified modifier thus is generically applied for all. I hope this makes sense and someone can provide help.
Your interpretation appears correct as long as Stepford is face up her continuous modifier applies and so the hunted character and those adjacent are modified by the -3 def.
Stepford Cuckoos, Weapon 14 (MEV-198U)
Character, 5, Weapon X/X-Men, 9/9, Range
Hunter <p> Characters hunted by you and characters adjacent to them get -3 DEF.
Just because the character is hunted by you it doesn't mean that the effect doesn't apply for other players. As long as the Cuckoos are face up the effect will continue for you and all other players.
Thanks. I thought that was correct. So, for Wolverine and Predator X, both of whom eliminate reinforcement, the same would apply, correct? If any player attacks the targeted character, that targeted character cannot have reinforcement.
