Okay, turn he comes around I have a nullifier on board he only humans the nullifier. So combat starts what happens? Can I nullify his surfer or does only human stop that....I figured that only human goes on the chain and then at the SoC i can nullify his surfer before it resolves....could be wrong....the way we played it out was his surfer's effect just went through anyone know how it should of went or if we played it our properly?

Which Surfer? Which Nullifier? You can't expect people to answer the question if we don't know which cards you are referring to. I will assume that you are referring to Silver Surfer, Norrin Radd and Ultimate Nullifier, One-Way Trip since that Surfer is the only one that triggers at the start of the combat phase and the other Nullifier doesn't grant powers to characters.

Anyway the way I see it when I look at Only Human's official text it says:

Only Human does not trigger when the combat starts as it doesn't have the magical words at the start of that signify a trigger along with whenever and when. Basically you can't chain anything since Ultimate Nullifier grants the power to the character and well thanks to Only Human he doesn't have powers.

If Only Human was worded: At the start of the Combat Phase target character looses and can't have flight, powers, and keywords then perhaps it could be chained but I don't see that happening with your scenario.

assuming u are talking about the 8 drop surfer, it would depend on the chain. im honstely not too sure if you can only human an equipment that is on a charactar, but assuming that you can, if only human was played before combat, then no. nullifer would have no text once combat begins, so it would not be able to stop surfer.

Yeah my assumption... which is why I played it this way... was that Ultimate Nullifer, One Way Trip grants the character a power. Only Human strips a character of powers during the combat phase. But this is a "property" of that character... as long as I use Only Human before the combat phase, he will not have that power at the start of the combat phase since "the start of the combat phase" is still part of the combat phase.

but then cant you just chain nullifier to only human for the negation?

Yeah the keys are-
1. Nullifier gives a power to a character -So it can be stripped by OH

2. Only Human does not trigger - So it can not be chained to (if played before CombatP)

I did mean One way trip. One way trip only works on triggered and payment powers so it can't negate Only Human. The original Ultimate Nullifer can negate any effect as long as its the combat phase.
