I was thinking of rebuilding my x-men short-curve as a Darkseid's Elite short-curve. Among the things possibly worth including are:
----
*Beta Club (equipment, burn for cost)
*Die for Darkseid! (PT, burn for 4 and replace)
*Dark Matter Drain (location, replace)
*Servants of Darkness (ongoing PT, burn for 2 each time a PT flipped)
*Omega Beams / Apokliptan Hospitality (PT, either KO's, possibly with burn for cost)
*Furious Assualt (PT, two Female Furies get +2 ATK this turn)
*Hordes of Apocalpis (PT, three attackers get +2 ATK this turn)
[1] Parademons, Army; Mad Harriet, Female Fury
[2] Speed Queen, Female Fury; Shaligo, Deep Six; Desaad, Royal Torturer
[3] Gillotina, Female Fury; Dr. Bedlam, Psionic Being
[4] Stompa, Female Fury; Knockout, FF; Bernadeth, Leader of the FF's
[5] Deviance, the Pursuer; Darkseid, Destroyer of Life OR Heart of Darkness
[6] Kanto, D's Assassin; Darkseid, Uxas; Brimstone, Engine of Destruction
-----
This team is good at doing extra stun damage, and burning/being big in general based on opponent's face-down resources. It has a number of ways to make them face down as well. Most of all, I think I like the Female Furies, but that's just for flavor. Does anyone have any building suggestions? Or have you simply tried Darkseid stall instead?
I have a spin on the unravel reality deck using the Birds of Prey opening to get card draw and then setting up for massive unravel with the team up. If you are interested I can post the deck list, but it doesn't seem to be exactly what you are looking for.
Ideally, I'd like this to stick to the traditional DE idea; none of the DE stall decks based off of Darkseid clones, none of the tricky substitute decks. Instead, I'd prefer it was based off of (a) burning for character cost, (b) being big/burning based on face-down resources, and (c) burning based off of players flipping PT's in an attempt to avoid [b] or PT's that replace and burn at the same time.
I feel this is certainly possible to do, the only problem being keeping the row face-down. Thus Darkmatter Drain, Mad Harriet, Parademons, etc. Sure, I take extra burn damage, but they will eventually dump characters into their row. Since this is very possible, I'd also like to add the sub-theme of the Female Furies... because they're cool, if for no other reason. This also allows me to run version-spotting PT's to great effect.
Anyone that reads this ever had experience with such a deck?
I have a DE list that is exactly what you're looking for that I came up with for a BYOT event. Once I get a chance I'll bust it out and type the deck list for ya. Its pretty decent overall and can stand its own against some good decks.
if you want to do the whole face down resource thing why not Dark Superboy at 5? he would fit with the face down resources theme and double stunning characters is good i hear.
This might be going against the grain here by looking off team, but what about the 4drop Ronan with cosmic? Thank Granny Goodness to flip their row face down, and as long as Ronan has his cosmic, their row is locked down. The Female Furies can replace anything he has to prevent them being flipped back up if Ronan does lose his cosmic counter...
I'll have to add my deck list to this thread. Mine hasn't been overly tested but definitely works well when I've played it. I've just recently received some Thank Granny Goodness that I initially wanted to put into the deck as well as experiment with Planet Weapon, but I've been second guessing the latter.
Gole is one that is almost entirely overlooked but I've found him to be extremely effective on initiative (kamikaze) or off (if you can reinforce) and then KO him to Die for Darkseid if he becomes a liability.
I also run Price of Treason and Apokolips for pumps and Trapped in the Sciencells.
