Hey Guys,
I"m looking to make a Marauders deck, since they are one of my favorite of the Mutant teams, but upon looking at their characters and effects, they seem rather difficult to pull off. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on how to get "easy" stuns to be able to pull off their character abilities? Apart from Riptides ability, what other ways can I stun my opponents without actually having to attack them?
quick q about the same theme. Let's say I have Riptide in play. I use Sewer Rats [attackers recover].
I send Riptide into a 2-drop. I am now an attacker. I use Riptide's stun effect, targeting the defender.

What happens? [well Riptide will recover for one]
I don't see why not. He did become stunned while attacking.
Well, 6 drop gambit's effect, pretty much screams free stun. Its not that hard to set up having only one card in your hand, things like sinister discples and messiah complex help, and cards like colletral damage and rat-tat-tat help you selectively discard cards. Outside of that u can always splice in Captain Atom.

Yeah Gambit 6-drop is the nuts. discard your entire hand with 3 card monte, bring back a 6-drop with messiah complex from the row and stun their 6-drop. It's not initiative dependent. It's just really, really good.

Well that's a given yeah but what I'm wondering is if Riptide will ready because upon attack resolution the defender is stunned and characters can't attack stunned characters, so he readies.
If Riptide attacks the 2 Drop and then uses his ability successfully after sewer rats has resolve...
Upon combat resolution he will no longer find a legal defender and therefore will ready from the situation making available for another attack.

Short Answer - No.
Long Answer - Yes if you put in the right cards. Using Mystiques' Lion Among the Lambs or Gambit's Three Card Monte is one way to take advantage of the Marauders' "opponent must control a stun character" effects.
But all in all, Riptide and Sewer Rats is usually the preferred way to get the synergy started.

Riptide loses the attacker characteristic as soon as he stuns. He therefore won't ready when the attack concludes.
I'm afraid Stun Happy is right and I was mistaken.
602.2a A character loses the attacker and/or team attacker characteristic if it changes zones, changes controllers, loses the type character, or gains the stunned characteristic. Modifiers that remove an attacker from an attack also cause the object to lose the attacker and/or team attacker characteristic.
However, attacking your opponent's 3 drop, using Sewer Rats and then after the attack concluded, using Riptide's ability on your opponent's 2 drop should provide a similar result in the end.
I thought the best way would be to send your highest cost character into their second highest cost, and then have everyone else attack up-curve using marauder tricks that need a stunned character.

Thanks for all the input guys, now I guess I have to try and get my hands on some of those cards...
Go with field control. Use riptide + Sewer rats + 2 drop Gambit to sweep their board on 3, then add in 1 drop mystique [Lions among lambs] to leave them with no hope on 4. Use blinding rages to ensure Riptide goes down. If you can, lions among labs on 4, get sabertooth and the bring in scalphunter to game on 5
