Not much different from Daedalus (and similar to Neo-Daedalus). The only advantage it has is being searchable and not being countered by Stardust Dragon. Otherwise, most other WATER/Umi-based strategies will work. Not much to discuss beyond that x_x
I like how they release such an awesome card, balanced as well but...there's not much to support it. If only they had some type of real draw power for "Water" decks then it'll prob. see more play aside the occasional Fish-OTK. I have the urge to build a Levia deck now.
Most Fish are WATER and they got Coelacanth and that's all from the DECK AND Level 4 or lower. Downsides being they can't attack and effects are negated, but the Special Summoning alone would serve their purposes.
EDIT: Besides, it would help for more originality rather than simply give each Attribute/Type the same type of things (like how people keep griping about other Attributes/Types/Archetypes not having their own Destiny Draw or Reinforcement of the Army and such).
Well, if that were true, it'd fall more towards MTG in a way. (No offense MTG players). I'm not asking for Water to have their own D-Draw or whatever, but some sort of deck thinning/drawing engine behind them that's balanced and worth playing.
And that's what Coelacanth is (as said, most Fish that are used are WATER in the first place), so there'd be no real need for one purely for WATER. Unfortunately, it doesn't help that people probably wouldn't use it much anyway unless they had a bunch of other just as good, if not better cards to go with them to make them uber-fast like Lightlords, DARK, Black Feathers, etc.
If only we could see more diverse decks in Tournas nowadays and actually place somewhere in the top. I'd actually like to see a Water deck utilizing "Umi" with the bounce and spin factor.

It would take some serious overhauling, plus somebody would have to build a fairly strong Water deck that could actually hold up. The problem is simply stated by Half --- too many Lightsworn, BW's, etc etc....
I will say this, though ---- play Daedalus and Water Dragon with ALO/Umi as the Field Spell, plus Bonding - H2O in hand. This combo is destructive and highly irritating, due to yur gaining immediate field advantage.
Yea, once I've read it I said the same thing. The best card combos nowadays are the ones that can be done within 1-2 turns (Counting your opp.'s) and can be executed easily.
