Ok I need you all to be gentle, this is my first work in creating something for papercraft. It has zero textures, because I really dont know how to do that and learning two seperate programs was enough for one project.

I have built one from foam core using the papercraft printouts as templates so I know that it all fits together pretty much like it should. I did take some liberties in the design to facilitate making it from paper so its not exactly the same.

That looks cool! Now how can you paint the foamcore dropship? Would it take standard paints?

I'll also bet the doors are more secure than the plastic WK one..

Yeah it should. Now I plan on giving is a nice coat of PVA to seal up the foam after detail work and then go at the painting.

I am admittedly bad at painting though....

On another note, If anyone knows how to skin or would like to try I can post the .pdo files to.

Btw, what did you use to make the pdo from? I'm looking for something that I can make 3d foldable images too.

Well, from what I have so far, I am almost done with the skin. I'm a bit confused on the front sides and how they line up, so they will take me awhile to do. They seem to be the hardest ones to skin.

The pdf file is a pretty big one. :surprised I hope you like it so far.

Ya know, With these skins and templates that you made, the possibilities for these things are endless. Hec, I was actually thinking of making a crashed, and scattered dropship terrain with them.

Thanks! I really love the 3d file. I copied the front sides from there and skinned them. I added the pdf in the folder. I'm still learning how to use google sketchup pro and the pepkura so that i can scale them to the right size but I think (hope really) that they are.

Did you ever paint your DS? If not, then you can print these on label paper and put them on there.

Ya know, I feel as if I am missing something on that pdf, but I don't know what.

After I finish skinning this thing I will be building it and making directions for it.
More to come soon.

You can bet that when your done Ill be printing those skins and adhering them to my model.

Painting, as I said, is not one of my talents. Cutting things out and gluing them together is.

Sorry it took me so long. Hope these will do for now. I still haven't built it yet so let me know how they work. I was thinking of doing them is the thinnest type of foam core instead of card stock. I will be posting pics of it when I am done with it.
