the question im asking is .. do you use R.I.S.C. Hot-Drop Shielding?

if so/not why?

ever since i found this ... its been an auto include when my opponent lets me (i have yet to acquire a legit copy .. so i photo shopped 6 of em)

It's rarity (I only have 1) makes it useless for me.
To only have 1 Medium class Mech that far away from the rest of your force is insane, IMO.

But I have been tempted to use it. I'll have to check my records, but I believe there was going to be more of them in Outlawas (Hot-ddrop Shielding). Not sure if other classes were going to be made for it. I'd have to check my sources.

Now, using proxies for 2 Mechs...Hmmm.

Same proxie, (Hot-Drop Shielding) 2 diff Mechs.

Okay, I have used it a time or two. It has too many negative qualities as R.I.S.C. Gear to be very useful as a competitive element in my battle force.

First, it is not "Optional" and will prevent any other Speed SE from being useful on the mech.

Second, it is "R.I.S.C. Gear" and can fail in spectacular ways, causing the mech to shut down and even damage itself, allowing the opposing army a free gift of a dead mech if it can't restart before they start shooting.

That being said, if you play a large enough battle that having two or three such units can serve as an expendable distraction while your main force is still advancing, can mean that you might catch your opponent's mechs with heat dials ready to shut down with a little push.

Suicide is painless and can be cost effective in small doses.
