So, it says target figure with the Golem damage type.
I am assuming by target it means I must draw line through my casters front arc to the golem in question. It doesn't (like other spells) specify range so I am assuming the caster can be any distance away.
Yes, it can be anywhere on the board; range is irrelevant. However, so is arc. No ranged attack is being made (and the spell itself takes a Special Action to cast), and the card does not refer to the arc, so it doesn't matter which way the caster is facing, either. The word "target" is simply because you must choose a single figure as the "target" of the spell.

OK. That's a fairly strong spell, I'd have thought it would get the put this spell face down treatment.
I had been using it on a Technocat w/ Surok Rider. How would that ruling go? I'm targeting the technocat (Golem) does my rider come along or get dismounted and stranded?
