Dragonking got me thinking about a Valhalla build so I started running with it. The Venus/Shine Ball build was a little boring to me and not really my style. This seems really interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Monsters
3 Master Hyperion
2 Archlord Kristya
3 The Agent of Mystery – Earth
3 The Agent of Miracles – Jupiter
3 Dimensional Alchemist
2 Hecatrice
2 Herald of Orange Light
1 Honest
Spells
3 Mystical Space Typhoon
3 Cards from the Sky
2 Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen
1 Heavy Storm
1 Dark Hole
1 Monster Reborn
1 Book of Moon
1 Mind Control
Traps
2 Solemn Warning
2 Mind Crush
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Mirror Force
1 Solemn Judgment
1 Trap Dustshoot
Well since I thought about a non-Herald version of Fairys... test out Darklord Desire. Basically a single tribute Dark End Dragon for fairy's. I think it would be good. But if you use it, it almost screams for you to run Fobidden Chalice as well. If I ran fairy's without Herald, this would be my build....
2 Archlord Kristya
3 Master Hyperion
2 Darklord Desire
3 The Agent of Mystery - Earth
3 The Agent of Creation Venus
3 Mystical Shine Ball
2 Herald of Orange Light
1 Honest
1 Marshmallon
1 Morphing Jar
3 Forbidden Chalice
2 Pot of Avarice
1 Dark Hole
1 Monster Reborn
1 Book of Moon
1 Giant Trunade
2 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Mirror Force
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Royal Oppression
1 Solemn Judgement
3 Safe Zone (with Kristya or Hyperion... simply amazing)
Hyperion and Avarice condradict each other but I run the same engine in Herald and don't have a problem.
I don't like Warning with Venus however. Especially with Jugement and Oppression. You have to run Venus in order to have a consistant Hyperion and Kristya and Desire, so choosing the lower (800 or half) and less risky cost cards of Oppression and Judgement seems better to me.
Otherwise its not much different than yours. I have always thought about 3 Orange Light mained, but 2 always has seemed better.
I'm psyched that I'll be able to play Krystia in this deck soon. Really want to get a Dimensional Alchemist in here, might take out on Herald of Orange Light for it.
I think this deck screams for valhalla abuse. The one I'm about pilot huses counter fairy as a basis and backed by venus, kristya and hyperion, hardly anything can stop you. I'm still trying to find a better draw than card from the sky becayse I wholly believe it can and will cost you games.
I thought about Valhalla but I really haven't tried to figure out what the deck would look like if I ran it. I feel like it would be worth running Soul of Purity and Light in that version of the deck since you would be dumping Hecatrice to grab Valhalla.
I know what you are saying about Cards of the Sky but I do like Miraculous Descent to balance it out.
Well I run without Venus and use the space for Zeradias and Hecatrice to search for what I want. I'll give CrtS a shot in order to see if I can get the speed I want out of it. However, I am not positive that I will do to make it pop. I just don't like that my combos are limited. Pot of Duality just fits better overall, but there is still a need for speed with this deck. Valhalla gives more openings and certainly can get what you need out in a hurry. Defensive options are hard to come by though, and to keep it at 40 cards, one is hard pressed. I think the counter fairy route can go with it, but bountiful artemis will need lots of coverage to make sure it goes off well.
I'm just not a big fan of Zeradias and Sanctuary in the Sky myself, I'd probably steer away from those if I played Valhalla.
I'm wondering if you could pair up Archlord Kristya, Master Hyperion, and something else (possibly Darklord Asmodeus) so the deck could run Trade In. That brings in the drawing engine that you are looking for and the number of high level monsters would be supported by Valhalla. Splendid Venus could also work in this roll since Darklord Asmodeus isn't available yet. I'm thinking the deck would look something like this:
Monsters
3 Master Hyperion
2 Archlord Kristya
2 Splendid Venus
3 The Agent of Mystery – Earth
3 The Agent of Miracles – Jupiter
3 Hecatrice
2 Herald of Orange Light
1 Marshmallon
1 Honest
Spells
3 Cards from the Sky/Pot of Duality
2 Trade In
2 Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen
2 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Giant Trunade
1 Dark Hole
1 Monster Reborn
1 Book of Moon
Traps
2 Solemn Warning
1 Royal Oppression
1 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Mirror Force
1 Solemn Judgment
I wenr two hyperion in mine with bountiful artemis. SiTS and jupiter is too good pass up especially if your using cards from the sky. Its iffy, but zeradias does add kristya and hyperion fodder easy. With the support available, I'm probably going with bountiful artmeis. Easy to get some good draw action going while stack disruption and negation. I'm not to sold on herald of orange light here, but its worth a shot.
The Herald of Orange Light was the main thing I was unsure about in the quick deck list I threw together. I really feel like I need another low level Fairy to drop. Ideally I'd like something that can attack over Reborn Tengu so that seems to limit my choices to Victoria (blah) or Harvest Angel. Harvest is actually pretty interesting and it would let me tweak the Trap line up slightly. I'd probably find a way to add in Divine Wrath if I go the Harvest route since it's one of my favorites and it would help to load the Graveyard for Hyperion/Kristya.
The other thing I could add is Dimensional Alchemist if I run Cards from the Sky. Maybe I can fit an Alchemist and Harvest in place of the Heralds.
The more I think about this build the more it intrigues me. I'm not a big fan of the Venus version of the deck right now so it's interesting to me to go in a different direction.
Well, in my observation, Marc Hahn had a pretty good build, but it seemed like it'd would stall at the wrong times. Alchemist works very well, since you can put just about anything out of the game to set up some very powerful game ending turns. Cards from The Sky might work in a single or pairs, but it would have to be prior to the winning turn in order to make sure the attack you didn't launch gets the maximum effect when you push for.
Darklord Asmodeus would work wonders here, but he's competing for spot with Splendid Venus. Venus keeps you from getting countered and weakens opposing creatures where as Asmodeus sets up graveyard and gives you indestructible tokens to summon Hyperion or Kristya. Miraculous descent and Different Dimension Reincarnation add to some explosive plays, although Return from a Different Dimension makes me worry when you've warnings and judgment floating around in there. I might still run it because it does half LP payments. XYZ works better Synchro monsters. The only synchro monsters worth running aside of Stardust is Light End Dragon and Avenging Knight Parshath.
I'll take a look at Marc Hahn's build. I put together the deck in the first post this morning to test it out. The main things I can see on the chopping block are Harvest, the third copy of Hecatrice and something to make room for Miraculous Descent.
I do like being able to use Light End Dragon and Avenging Knight Parshath. Both of those Synchros are pretty under rated.
The Only reason I picked those two out is mainly for control. Bountiful is pretty weak and since Honest became restricted, its going to need all the support it can get to stay afloat. Avenging Knight is a game winner and when cycled out for hyperion and brought back by jupiter, it just screams field advantage (meaning removed by hyperion's effect and retrieved with Jupiter's) XYZ will work better in this deck if you pick the right ones. Thunder End Dragon is most likely candidate for this deck, Utopia and probably Galaxy Queen if you run Shine Ball
Tweaked the main deck slightly. I dropped Harvest for a second Dimensional Alchemist. I also cut Divine Wrath and Seven Tools of the Bandit for two copies of Miraculous Descent. The deck is similar to what Hahn was running but I tried to stream line it a bit, mostly to get rid of potential dead draws.
I used Hahn for the template, but I kept seven tools and added bribes. Bountiful adds some decent draw and fueling up with trade-in and pot of duality, there should be a bit more consistency. I might just leave room for one miraculous descent to set off some good plays should I hit venus or kristya with D. Alchemist. You can't go wrong on three (I've had some bad cards rfp with it, but i also got some good fairy monsters put away). Have you tried Tethys. she's excellent to send this thing into overdrive.
I haven't tried Tethys yet, I'll keep that in mind.
I want to see how the two copies of Miraculous Descent work. I may end up bringing back Seven Tools of the Bandit in place of one of them. Right now I've just done a few test hands with the deck. It seems pretty insane that you can drop Venus with Valhalla, Special Summon Hyperion and still have your Normal Summon left. Lots of possibilities here.
