I hate this card !!! and its only going to see more play going into the future as the Shining becomes legal worldwide and Escuridao can't be too far off.
Does anybody have solid answers against this card, or this deck in general ? Like easy answers to fusions etc. This card is so horrible being a quick-play spell that can't be chained to. It makes it nigh unstoppable, and it can break up synchro plays by grabbing your tuners when set etc
I'm looking for main stream answers, so no continuous stuff that gets blown up, no obscure cards that only work if you run a sub-par deck. Preferably solid answers that work in competitive decks.
Eh, that would be tricky otherwise...the fact that cards can't be chained in response pretty much axes out any regular cards used, including Counter Traps, leaving only Continuous Effects really...
I figured it out :p It cost me 5 cards in my sideboard, but I frigging did it :p :
3x Super Polymerization
2x Elemenetal hero Gaia (for my saber deck anyway)
Just wait for them to use super poly on your monster, then smack them upside the head by taking their gaia to make your own. It gets even better if they have another hero on the field :p then you just take both their monsters and for the price of one discard you basically killed their hand and traded up your monster :p Its frigging evil :p I love it :p
Sadly, that's the way I usually see it done; countering Super Fusion with your own Super Fusion right after it. Give the opponent a taste of their own medicine like mirror matches tend to, lol. (Somewhat similar to Chimeratech Fortress Dragon Decks, exception being that you couldn't steal their Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, lol.)
And when you consider the possibility of the no-priority ruling popping in...yeah...even a fun Uria use wouldn't be safe anymore...just Super Fusion in response and bring out Nova Master, lol.
i was going to say, "why gaia?", cause honestly i dont even use one of him. but with sabers, yea, youll have your own earths. but really, i would do one of each, gaia, zero and shining, just so you dont HAVE to use your own, since youll be ditching both a mon AND the cost for poly to get rid of one card, thats a -2 on your part when you include poly itself. youll get not only less situational poly draws, but youll be able to pull off more one sided fusions (your opp side :D)
Well, aside from numbers, there's also tactical advantage, like Super Fusion being unable to be chained to, gaining back a monster through the Fusion, combo with the discard most likely, and such.

Thing is that is a LOT of sideboard space :p 5 slots is a lot and gaia at least is always useful. Its mostly to compensate for them using super poly on me, so they would have likely -2'ed already, which means the tactical advantage gained by making my own gaia with either their gaia and an earth of mine, or a if they have another hero out just their two monsters is infinitely greater since they are unlikely to have an answer for it at that point in time.
