Well with the new format, comes new tech cards. In the past few formats, Collosal Fighter has seen less and less play as it has become a less viable extra deck choice, typically getting booted to make room for Scrap Dragon or other needed level 8s.
But now we have Black Luster Soldier back in the game. Collosal Figher may not at first look like a fantastic choice to counter such a behemoth, but I've given it alot more thought than I first did.
Lets say the situation is they have a BLS and you summon a Collosal Fighter and there are 2 warriors in the graveyard. Just ram the CF into BLS and then take there BLS from there graveyard which could net you 2 more attacks or the ability to get rid of something else in your way like a Spirit Reaper.
Similar situation with the same outcome is if either player has a BLS in the graveyard and they have a big monster on the field that Collosal Fighter can run into or for that matter, be run over by. That gives you the ability to summon that BLS when your Fighter gets killed.
And lets not forget, Collosal Fighter is the only level 8 that can actually attack over BLS on its own without just ramming into it like Red Dragon Archfiend does.
Sure other options like Dark End Dragon and Scrap Dragon can take out BLS with there effects, but what if the more and more popular effect Veiler gets in the way? You just gave your opponent a prime target for BLS to run over. Maybe I have been seeing these results since I have been playing in tournaments with Dragon decks running BLS and many warrior heavy decks.
Does all this actually warrent using Collosal Fighter again? In my personal opinion, I think so. What is everyone else's thoughts?
I've ran over my fair share of Soldiers already with Gigantech Fighter. Rarely do I ever have 2 or less Warriors in my Graveyard when I bring it out anyway, so I don't even really have to suicide it.
Veiler doesn't even help against it given it activates in the Graveyard, so even if they use it to lower its ATK for the turn, I can still suicide it, remove a Warrior, and revive it with its ATK still the same (or merely 100 less from my Graveyard) and run over Soldier anyway, lol.

When I was speaking of Veiler, I was talking about BLS backed up with a Veiler vs. Scrap Dragon or Dark End. Of course Veiler vs. Collosal does next to nothing.
I've seen very few extra decks even recently running Collosal Fighter.
I thought with the common Utopia in the graveyard and BLS running rampant that it would be a very common choice right now. As well as Lightsworn having a good amount of Warriors as well.
