Christie Golden has been named as the author of the HEX novel we got for one of the stretch goals on Kickstarter.

I know a lot of people were wanting to know who it would be; hopefully this satisfies them. ;P

I have little experience in this arena - are people pumped for her?

I had actually never heard of her (but then the extent of my book collection is basically just The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, His Dark Materials, The Wicked Years, Animorphs, and Harry Potter).

Her credentials seem pretty impressive and overall reaction to her seems good from what I've seen.

I'll very most likely not be reading the book but I hope whoever is looking forward to it loves it!

same, the game seems great, but I'm not sure that a book can be as good as other fantasy books out there.
And for me english is second language, so it takes some effort for me to read...

This is an epic scoop for Hex. The lore is amasing I love the idea of the big hex meteor/comet striking the planet. It will be a fabulous story and mixing the traditional mmo / fantasy characters of the orcs, humans, dwarfs etc with the amazingly flavourful shin hare, cyottle and vennon. I wonder if Cory knows Christie on a personal level, I am glad she is taking a punt on this as she is a very skilled writer I really really enjoyed Lord of the Clans.

She wrote a ton of WoW-novels. I'm a fan of her, cause she's a very good writer :)

Do the kickstarter backers get a PDF of the book or just the knowledge that a book would be written I hope some of the art is included in the book. Oh that reminds me Iam super excited for the art of hex PDF wonder when that will be distributed and whether it will be updated with future sets.

Huh, now that you mention it, I'm not sure. I didn't even think we were getting a copy, I thought the stretch goal was just so the book could be written.

They will probably announce the book being able to be brought at the KS site.

Yha, but until the book will be written and edited, it may take a lot of time... so they will probebly wait with any announcment

I checked back the kickstarter goal just enabled the book to be written. There was no offer of a free digital version to backers. I do hope they release it in digital format I would happily purchase it - I am super excited about the lore of hex and I hope and expect the novel to stay true to CZE's outline.

Same. I honestly prefer just reading stuff on my computer anyway. Well, at least comics, but novels I'm fine with either.

I won't read it either way but I hope it's awesome for those interested.

I think they should give you backers a little something something from it though - having a stretch goal that you still need to pay for is a little...underwhelming IMO.
