So I've been playing a lot of SolForge, waiting on the HearthStone beta to hold me over until the HEX Alpha (yeah; I'm a dTCG nut like that). At any rate; SolForge rewards you for "winning your first game of the day"; and "winning your third game of the day" ... but a "win"; isn't the same as "not losing". Puzzled? So was I. Evidently SolForge is full of douchbags that if they even think that they're going to lose; they quickly concede that game ... which the game doesn't reward "wins" for. I've played 10 games tonight, and have yet to lose ... but I also haven't "won" any games either. :(
Hopefully HEX plays close attention to the failures of other dTCGs and puts forth the best product possible.
Man, I really hate when games don't punish the (sore) losers who do crap like disconnect. I really hope HEX has something to counteract it. Granted I'd probably be fine just largely doing PvE/playing with friends, but it's so ridiculous.
It just does not make sense to not count that as a win. SF really needs to re-look that or it will seriously harm their playerbase. No one wants to deal with that crap. There are doushbags everywhere and they should not be able to ruin someone else's experience so easily.
Yeah, but it fun to test your wits against another human player. I guess that requires you to accept the crap from a load of DBs, but it doesn't have to be that way.
I'm really happy that HEX will (supposedly) have very good, unique AIs. They gave the example of one NPC who is racist against dwarves, and thus whenever you play a dwarf he'll go out of his way to kill them above anything else.
Who needs real-life asses when you got virtual asses? :)
LOL, I love it. That is one of the cool things about a completely digital TCG. These types of quirky mechanics keep replay value high. It also introduces unique strategies that make collecting a wide base of cards important for the MMO side of house which by consequence requires more packs to be bought, thus more revenue for CZE. It is all a symbiotic circle.
Unless they fix up the problems that happen in Solforge, especially with the server problems I don't think playing with others is really worth it. You get nothing playing a game with others.
Well, that will help to keep the competition low for HEX. I just hope they make it available in time for the Holiday season. That is a huge source of retail growth in the US, and could make or break this game from a cash flow perspective.
I've been saying the whole time they need to bring it out in time for the holidays. Is SF having a lot of server problems? What's up with these recent games? FF, SF - is no one planning out server stuff anymore? lol
They have to come out with a quality product. The last thing Hex needs is people saying that they prematurely released it in hope for a quick cash in. They could release it near the summer time where there is a huge holiday season for most of the school players.
