I guess they're done posting real updates on the KS--which is fine. It was nice getting the whole update to my email but as long as I get notified that they're out every Friday it's no big deal.
They haven't really been doing much of an update period any week since Alpha launched, but they at least took the time to type up the Kickstarter update before. A lot of the time the KS update actually had info that the other articles didn't.
Mono-Blood decks so strong :( there are like 2-3 decks for competitive play atm. Rest is fun stuff you can't win with. (exception : you're a damn lucky guy...)
^I'd say there's more than three viable decks--easily double that or more. Mono-wild ramp, mastery of Gralk, wild/Ruby aggro, mono-blood control, blood/sapphire mill, and diamond/X lifegain all work pretty well, and I'm sure there's some heavy-hitters I'm missing. There might even be a deck or two that's yet to be discovered
In excited for draft too, though. While constructed is great, Draft is my favourite format.
Second @ GPrime... yeah i now all these kinda decks, for great part i have them in my decklist.
Have to say, didn't change anything for me. Every tournament i ran, i got 2-3 monoblood decks against me.
Yeah, there are a good amount of other decks you CAN play, but no other deck is more frustrating to play against than monoblood.
There's always going to be people upset abou cards being exceptionally powerful. It's especially noticeable, though, when there's no "rarity" to speak of. Once beta comes out and the powerful chase cards are hard to get a full playset of, the perception should shift slightly from "bleh, Menacing Gralk is OP" towards "flip yeah, I opened a Gralk!"
But those powerful cards need to exist, and it's not always easy to re-balance without going too far. Mono-Ruby aggro went from being a top tier powerhouse to a mediocre low-tier deck in one patch.
All people need to rember is, this game is designed around rotating sets. If you're not a fan of where the meta is now, it'll change when the new set releases. Then once the new block releases, we'll be playing a whole new game again.
