Thanks for this. The update this week is a little light, understandable so with the holiday season. Some of the information seems to be rehashed. I am sure we heard that set 2 was nearly done and work had begun on set 3 a few weeks back. I am increasingly excited about the pve part of this game, aka the gateway drug. The emberspire witch dungeon sounds like it will prevent health gain and I like that you will need to unlock the puzzle so to speak and build dungeon specific decks. New art isn't to my taste but its good to see them expanding the artist input. Hopefully we get a tournament fixing patch soon.
The Emberspire Witch gets a dungeon? Interesting.[/quote]
Really, the updates have been pretty sparse ever since Alpha came out.
I guess they're worried about revealing too much too quickly (we've seen that their projections are always too optimistic), but it would be nice to see some more PvE cards/equipment or something.

I wonder is set 2 release will be fast tracked, with such a long alpha set 1 will be worked out and somewhat stale do we really want to have three months post release of set 1. With all the kickstarter packs I doubt cryptozoic will sell many set 1 packs so perhaps a fast tracked set 2 suits everyone :D

Possibly, but they could be honestly running out of things to tell us. Back in the KS days, so much of Hex was finished and nobody knew a thing about it. Now, people have seen plenty that isn't playable and we've also played with a couple hundred cards. Some things will be better left a surprise but honestly a lot probably just isn't ready to show yet.
I'm kinda hoping they surprise us with "Beta in two weeks!" when we least expect it.
As long as the servers and code are ready for it. =P
There's still a ton of PvE cards they haven't revealed, as well as equipment for a lot of the PvP cards. I don't expect them to spoil two a week like they were doing pre-Alpha, but seeing some once in a while would be nice.

Ha that would be epic - we are at least a couple of months from beta though.
They need all of set 1, events (with drafting), collection server and a whole heap more, but every week we step closer and closer and the last 6 months post Kickstarter have flown past.
I don't read the patch notes closely because I'm not really interested in playing Alpha, so I just now noticed this:
I'm... not sure how that was an error, but whatever. :/
During the kickstarter, the alternate Victoria cards was previewed with Lifedrain - you can see that cards here http://hextcg.com/rewards/
However, we know several cards have undergone balance changes, either a nerf or a buff, for example during the kickstarter extinction cost 5 resource and now it is 4. My biggest concern it the Spectral Lotus, I am pretty sure that Cory mentioned in one of the recent streams that the lotus no longer cantrips (draws a card when played). If true this will have a huge impact on the playability of the card, effecting both desirability of the lotus and desirability and market value of the Spectral Lotus Garden.
