Question about faction Strategies and Cliff Notes on Their DA Stories
Hello,
I was wondering what are some of the house strategies for each house (With either the old DA ruleset or AoD FP cards).
I know that for example BR is all about repair (maybe with double repair with salvagemech mods?)
I think that CJF is all about JJs on their mechs and DFA all day.
And Clan Sea Fox is all about salvaging and more like a barbarian, the more you kill the more you heal (I think it is the only one that can ignore black markers).
The rest, got no clue.
Also, what exactly happens with the salvagemech mods? Did it get errataed? Did it just always get double repair? Did it turn into single repair but could double melee attack? Did it just don't get double anything and become useless for its points? What happened to that? Or did the later stuff (the twins, hammerfall, seka aiko decoy, and god knows what else) just eclipsed it so much that no one bothered about it (which would be weird cuz if I can rep a hammerfall 12 clicks in one go....)
Also, anyone know know where I can get a cliff's notes about the story of the dark age era? Like there is something like 100 book or something... Something quick and general like RoTS hates CJF for this reason and this reason. Liao and Spirit cats like each other for this reason and what not.
Like I see the whole Rimoran's Scenario Book and it seems liao is picking fights everywhere, RoTS is ineffective or not showing much and then there is other stuff in there. If one can explain why those things were fought it'd be nice.
A post from this year? Id almost forgotten this forum.
I didn't play AoD, only Dark Age. My army was Stormhammers.
Stormhammers had good artillery and many hard hitting units. Lousy heat dies on mechs. My star was my DI Towed Artillery. Swordsworn are rather similar to Stormhammers. Good artillery, tanks, and the Balac Strike VTOL. Some of the AoD mechs have playable heat dials. Used to be artillery and VTOL backed by a heavy tank and a medium mech.
ROTS and Highlanders relie on their armour. Often lack colors on the dial or have low attack values.
Dragons Fury plays hard and fast. Great heat dials. Tie up the enemy, move in a big gun, break awau, fire. Need good use of terrain and positioning as you generally have the shortest range for comparable units.
I'd have to dig out my toys to remember any more, haven't played much last few years.
