Tovak's Frenzy makes him a tough one to work with IMO, especially with the Solonavi, who don't have a lot of it themselves. It's going to also be hard to fully commit to him with a ton of items, since I'm sure you're going to be facing Spirit Armor. What were you thinking in terms of support? Heddravalis, a horde of Shades, and a spellcaster like Elydia with some buffing enchantments all come to mind.
I was originally going with Decapitator MSB for a ton of positive modifiers together with a horde of shades who will have immortality via call fam. But I thought that would be cheesy. As for enchantments, not really a fan of them because of the recent appearances of disenchant.
Aside from the classic decapitator magestone bracers, I had a few ideas revolving these relics:
Solonavi Soulbinder MSB
Scorch Hammer MSB
WarConsort's Coco haves+Stickhorse combo with an oracle apprentice folio with SPIRITBIND
The ever expensive REALMS RELICS
Gateshield Dervish
He is yet to acquire his spirit armor thankfully, but never the less I would like to make this Solonavi army led by Tovak Wyrmstalker a swiss knife against the Elves.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can use faction relics on OotNC figures, since technically they don't get the Solonavi faction until the game begins, not before during set up. You could have a real Solonavi unique start the game with Scorch Hammer and drop it for Tovak, but that's inefficient, and you run into Frenzy issues. What do you think about Fire Shield, Cloak of the Dervish, and MSB, for his Counter Attack and a defense against all those Eleven Archers?
Good call on the Disenchant, though I don't think Call Familiar for 2-3 Shades is too cheesy. You could give the spell book to Daheia for some real punch, Lady Wydranna for the support healing and necromancy, or Elydia for I between. If you do go Shades, I would really try to sneak some Venom in there for them to copy -- Elven Lords don't have a lot of Toughness.
Norim is correct. This is from the December 2005 FAQ:
Quote
Q: *While building my army, I include a warrior from the Order of the Ninth Circle subfaction, and assign
a spellbook to it. I also include a figure from the Dark Crusaders faction. Can I include spells with a Dark
Crusader faction requirement in the spellbook being wielded by the Order of the Ninth Circle figure?*
A: No. Spellbooks are assigned to figures prior to army deployment. Friendly and opposing status is not
determined until after deployment, and as such, Pact will not give the Order of the Ninth Circle warrior the
Dark Crusaders faction symbol until after deployment. When building the spellbook, spells with faction
requirements cannot be included unless the warrior has that faction symbol printed on its base.
You are lucky Mageprince does not have Spirit Armor. What about the Galeshi Sunsword for ranged attack immunity?
Thanks for that clarification, still the drop and grab trick will work for scorch hammer hahaha... As for GSS I was seriously considering it for the plus 2 attack rating and the ranged immunity. I may need to Play test by myself just to check for it's effectivity versus the relic I have in mind... Thanks for the feedback guys!!!
