The omega beams are kinda meh. Very random held to the dice roll, you can attack whoever they happen to get to but its not really a targeted type power. Darkseid nastiness is his ability to survive. 50/50 impervious/invincible along with a Mastermind that can heal him. Add that to his steal energy that can be used in conjunction with his beams zipping around the map and he's going to be a pain to bring down.
Agreed. He'll destroy Amazo, especially when you make up the 90 points with cannon fodder. Darkseid's got the goods and the most powerful piece in the set.
CAAV058 Immortal Hulk is here. There is no stopping him. For he will rise again and crush your bones. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
The more and more I play this guy, the more I love him. The Mastermind, healing trait is more powerful than you think and keeps Darkseid around for a long time. A total stud.

For those of you that have him, how has this beast been working for you? I think he's without question the most powerful piece in the set. Let me know.

I don’t have him yet, but I did use him in a digital prerelease. He definitely kicked butt. Beware against well-built teams (obviously), but his reusable boom tube is extremely handy to get into the action, and his omega beams combined with the later clicks make him super dangerous. I used him specifically in a fight against himself, and the addendum in his defense power allowing him to reduce damage from equal point characters really made that battle last. We threw away the timer for that fight just to see what would happen, and it was extremely close but my Darkseid prevailed, winning me the event and its imaginary rewards. Absolutely going to get my hands on this piece one way or another.
Only play tested Darkseid once. I’m just not sure how to play him. In 300 points you need cheap mm fodder and some decent support. If you base him then he can’t use his OMEGA beams.
He is really hard to KO. I think he is much better in 400pt games where you can open up his support options.
I wanted to team him up with Poison Ivy to use her giant reach plants as MM fodder but they are hindering terrain dependent.
Henchmen are good.
I hope players post some good team building options.
We really need some cheap Parademons. I think I would rather have Darkseid generate Parademon bystanders and not get the steal energy.
He basically gets a unique version of flurry and top dial he is potentially dealing 10-11 clicks of damage.
Granted, my son is a strong player - but Darkseid KO'd my entire 300 point Injustice League team pretty much by himself.
I'd probably start looking for long dials with damage reduction and force blast/quake/super strength so that Darkseid can mastermind to them and they can try to help knock back a character from Darkseid so he can use his Omega Beams.
If you shoot his Omega Beams and they don't touch anything on your first turn, do you place the OB marker on a square, then on your next turn can you roll the 2d6 and move it again from it's marker position to attack with it? Just wondering the full extent of its maneuverability.

Superboy Prime, yep. The marker isn’t removed unless it crosses an opposing character or blocking terrain. Probably one of my favorite parts of the power.
