It was time once again. I line of white envelops with red seals were sent out across the various universes. Each one addressed with care. As soon as the envelops made their way to their recipients, the RSVPs started coming back. Some were no brainers. These fighters have never missed a tournament and were not going to start now. Some were long shots, fighters that had turned down the previous tournament. Still others were new faces, being allowed entry for the first time.

It wasn’t long until it became apparent that something strange was happening; not a single invite was being turned down. Every fighter had agreed to return. Every new challenger had accepted. As the numbers grew and grew, excitement built. Truly, this contest would be… ultimate.

But not everyone was happy. As the fighters arrived, showing their invitations, a small group had managed to sneak in. Unnoticed. They had found themselves in the inner sanctum and this was their chance. They would get the respect they deserve. Even if they had to topple every single one of the invitees to do it.

Arriving in the middle of the pack was a plain looking boy. Someone unknowing may mistake him as a helper or bystander. He was unassuming and did not give off the air of a seasoned fighter, despite the fact that this was his second contest. He waited by the gate for his friend. He was thrilled that she had also gotten an invite and he would have a friendly face to talk to in the down time. He had helped her train and prepare and he knew she would do great. He waited by the gates as others arrived, nodding to familiar faces and waving to those he hadn’t met yet. He was too busy looking forward, to preoccupied with anticipation to realise he was not waiting alone. Someone had singled him out. The bloodshed would begin before the first fight would even start.

Magnito is dead. He was the Villiager (Town/Animal Crossing) unassuming young man and first causality.

Here I was wondering how many returning characters there might be, given how many characters were KOed in previous games, but I guess we're looking at a game where everyone is potentially back after all?

I'm proud to say I have finally stopped losing 100% of the time to my children in this game... I've improved to winning 20% of the time!

Excited for the items... Not excited in winning them, as most of the time I'm yelling "Get the thing!"

I have the same problem with my brother.

Normally I'm against day 1 yeets, and that's still true. But Kontrol has annoyed me enough by signing up for games and not participating that if we wanted to take him out today, I'd be an enthusiastic participant.

I am a big proponent of at least getting some information out of people day one or why even have it. Might as well just start with night 1.
