Yes. Impervious is activated when the character is dealt damage. Mastermind deals damage to the character. So impervious can be used to reduce that damage.

Okay let's say that you can roll to reduce the damage to 0
How would you resolve an enhanced/shielded up energy explosion involving 2 targets adjacent to each other - one with mastermind and the other with impervious if both get hit.
Obviously on the attack against the impervious character the explosion hits, but splashes around him and he could perhaps roll at that point to reduce it to 0) Does the mastermind still take splash damage indirectly that he can't mastermind off or can he try to mastermind the splash damage, then the directed damage (aimed at him) or is it both at once. If so, how many impervious rolls would the impervious character need to make to resolve the whole thing?
All damage from the Energy Explosion occurs at the same time. So you Mastermind all of the damage, direct and splash, to the Impervious character. If the Impervious character rolls a 5 or 6, no damage is done in the attack.
FYI: A Mastercard character no longer has to be the target of an attack, which is why he can Mastermind off the splash damage.
I dont think you can mastermind splash damage. I think you would get 2 rolls for impervious one for the directed hit at him and one for the sloughed off damage from the mastermind piece. Keep in mind if you miss the rolls for impervious the surrounding pieces would take 3 clix of damage. one for the initial hit one for the sloughed off hit and one for the enhance.
All EE damage is simultaneous and from the same source. If a figure uses Mastermind, he Masterminds all of that attack's damage, both splash and direct. For this same reason, Impervious figures make a single roll to determine how all of the damage of the attack is treated; either the total is reduced by 2, or the total is reduced to 0.
And keep note of the changes made to Impervious and Mastermind when Indy came into effect. First, neither one requires being the target of an attack any more; either one takes effect when the figure is dealt damage. Second, Impervious no longer causes the attack to have missed on a successful roll; damage is reduced either way, whether it be by 2 or to 0. This means that even if a figure's Impervious roll is successful, other effects of the attack still occur, whether that be the generation of splash damage or the assignment of a token.
Yes you can. The wording of Mastermind is that Mastermind is used when that character is dealt damage and that damage is then dealt to the second character. Since that second character is now dealt damage he/she/it can deflect it to a third character as long as the third character costs less in points.
Another thing to remember about Mastermind is the character can deflect knockback damage to a flunky as well.
