Here's the plan. Gargantua and I are choosing our Top 100 Marvel figures, and top 100 DC figures. Split 'em up into groups of 25 for 8 games. Play 'em 8 figures at a time, replacing new figures into the game as they old ones are KOd. Games will start at 2300 points each. We may tweak that in later games if we feel it needs to be.
What makes a figure top 100? Could be they're the definitive version of a big name hero or villain. Could be a personal sentimental favorite. Could be that figure that's just too good not to include, or the one that's just too much fun to play. The one limit we're giving ourselves is that we can only bring in one version of a character. There may be 3-4 fantastic versions of Thor our there, but only one can be allowed in the 100 (though exceptions can be made for "alternate universe/what if/elseworlds" versions of the character. Might we see Ultimate Thor or Justice Lords Superman? Possibly.
Lots of Avengers still to play, you'll see several in this game.
Devil Dinosaur - While who doesn't like a dinosaur, it's not as a favorite character that Devil is here. It's for the pogs. And the TK. And the Stop clicks. And okay, for the smoking jacket.
Captain Marvel - I like Carol. I like how she rose the ranks of B-lister knock offs to be an A-lister her own right. I like her better than the original. There are lots of good versions, but the movie set figure's nicely affordable.
Thor - Every few years, Wizkids puts out a figure that just seems truly broken. This Thor is the latest. You get way more for 125 points with him than I think you should. I complain about how broken every time I have to play against him. But I'd be stupid not to play him when I get a chance.
Vision - An interesting character. The android struggling with humanity years before Star Trek TNG went there. I need to have him. ADW is good, even if cheap.
Hawkeye - Even if not such a long-term Avenger, he's been made so well, he would be hard to leave out anyway.
Loki - Even before Tom Hiddleston so nailed the role in the movies, Loki was a mainstay, Thor's true arch-enemy and a must have. Lots of good version of him, at all different point levels, but I think I need to economize where I can, so I'll take a cheaper version.
Electro - Up there in the ranks of classic Spider-Man enemies. I realize this is not Max Dillon but Francine will do.
Star-Lord - The old school team was fun but never that big a fan of them. But I'll admit it, the new Guardians of the Galaxy have won me over. I've included most of them already, but I need to make room for Star-Lord still.
