flyingicarus and I just did a set of games. JLA vs Avengers. What's that you say? Ho hum? Been there, done that? Well maybe, but what if in each of the games, one team is pretty much straightforward as you'd expect, but the other is sort of a What If...? version of the team. Alternate versions of the characters (Venom Captain Marvel? Green Lantern Harley Quinn?) Maybe a reformed villain or two? Obscure heroes who were never a member of the team we knew? Any and all of it is possible.
This time around, we're switching teams. I'm playing the Avengers and flyingicarus the JLA.
my Alternate Avengers starting lineup
50 WI043 Peace Machine
77 ASM035 Jennifer Kale
175 CWSOP113 Captain Ironmerica
50 ABPI026 White Tiger
50 SWB021 Black Widow
65 CAAV014 Power Man
45 WKM17-003 Synapse
75 F4051 Silk
587
The non-alternate teams have been getting map choice, so I leave that to flyingicarus.
"They call themselves the Justice League of America. We'll see about that," Captain Ironmerica said. "They've got no exclusive claim to either Justice or America."
"He's impressive," Synapse said.
"Seriously," Silk agreed.
"Always," Peace Machine told them. "He's a natural leader. I'd fight for him any time, even though I hate fighting."
"The man in armor shying away from a fight? That's mighty strange," Natasha said, spitting a wad of tobacco juice.
"Filthy habit," the White Tiger said.
"Pretty lady like her, can do whatever she wants in my book," Erik Josten said.
"Ugh. It's all about how a woman looks to you, is it?" Jennifer Kale asked.
"Asks the lady in the chain mail bikini," Josten retorted.
John on widow. SC is 5. Fine, he barriers, I think he can do this still but maybe not. He then sides to H6.
He can't actually. You've declared that you're making an attack. You're allowed to change the target of the attack, if there is another valid target, but you can't totally back up and choose a different kind of action. You're committed at that point to the attack action and if you don't have any other targets, the action is taken but wasted.
Other than the obvious removal of the Barrier, does that change anything else about the rest of your turn?
