While we were all waiting for the 3rd shoe to drop in the form of a Rules Article 3 ... WizKids has responded to community concerns related to what has already been published. In the spirit of GameStop/GME/WallstreetBets and everything else going on this week ... Power to the Players!
I will say this; I appreciate WizKids taking the time to address community concerns ... they could've easily dismissed them as the voice of a vocal minority. But they didn't. Props where they are deserved!
Even if this response may not have been "perfect," I'm glad to see them issue a statement and address some of the issues people have. I'm still waiting to make judgements until the full set's out, and we see more of these changes they've got going on. Going forward, reaching out like this more often might help WizKids' image when everyone's so tense and ready to declare the game dead.
I'll give props to Wizkids for the speed and tone of this response. During the rollout of the 2017 rules they responded to fan feedback swiftly and sympathetically, and that was a big part of what made those, in my opinion, the best set of rules in the time I've been playing (since about 2013).
I still don't think this solves all of my problems, and it sounds like the Wonder Woman set is too committed to the new paradigm for them to totally reverse course.
I do appreciate their focus on solvable problems, with errata to popular figures so they can still be played the way they're meant to for the time being. I do think fully removing pushing damage is a mistake but I understand that's the path they've chosen and thy can't get off right away. I will also say that my issue with the idea of benching powers was the number of powers being benched, so pulling back on that is also appreciated.
I'm still deeply worried about the direction game design is going in but I will say I've played a lot of collectible tabletop games and Wizkids is much better about responding to fan concern than any other company I know of.

I think with all things you always have to look for that "Cashing Out" moment and keep companies honest. Not saying that's the case here ... but I normally just follow the money. WizKids is a business ... we should expect them to do things that they believe make the most business sense. But is most businesses there's some percentage of guessing involved ... and that's when the consumer needs to come in and provide valuable data points to turn those guesses into facts.
HeroClix should be fine ... nothing like the last 2 times it bit the bullet. We need new blood to keep the game going. I'm just happy they didn't bite into the Funko craze and introduce cartoony figures like the old TabApp ones.

The changes look interesting, I think it's going to be a great change going forward. I don't even mind the benching. When the powers come back, it will be like they're all new again!

Ummm they addressed nothing. They errata'd two figs and made sure we understood what their colossal stamina plan was. Nothing is different.
