Lack of any kind of move and attack really hurts them. I imagine their only purpose is to spawn next to Grodd and use as mastermind fodder. Maybe a little backup attacking if they come to you.

Actually the prime ape can give them sidestep.

Also notable as one of very few sidekicks that can do the all important three damage.
