It's sad cause this is one of my favorite Magnetos ever, but without the ability to make two powered-up object attacks in a turn I just don't like him.
I for one am excited to play this Magneto.
As much as I also miss the dual TK attacks, I can also appreciate the effect that extends how close Magneto has to be to debris to boost his stats. Not many characters can boost their damage easily thanks to the rule change.
At least you still have some options. If you can get your hands on the dial, you may still play the AOA Magneto in golden if you want a Magneto that can do multi attacks.
Likewise you could play this Magneto in golden age at 189 with the original ability.
Also this legacy card allows for this dial to join the X-Men... which is HUGE.

They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far." Robert Downey/Tony Stark
It doesn't seem to say Unique Modifier or anything but does he really get +3 to all his stats if he's within 4 squares of 3 debris tokens? That's so good

I doubt it. My guess is, if the effect would stack as you speculated it might, they would word it to be something like: "For each debris market within 4 squares of Magneto, increase Magneto's combat values +1."
Again, just my guess as to their intent of the power.
Still, this is a very potent Magneto, even if he does cost 175. Especially given his natural range, coupled with his SP Magnetic Shield to cut opposing figure range in half. And given you can surround him with up to 5 meatshields in the form of the new Hellfire Club Guards.
Overall I love bringing this figure back into relevance. This, for me, is arguably one of the best scultps WK ever produced. And one of the select few pre-oreo base figures I still own.
Man it’s tough, I keep going back and forth between this one and the old one. The old one is still good. I think what I miss the most about the old one on this one is being able to carry 4 characters. Losing the two attacks kind of sucks but in Modern I don’t feel it’s that big of a deal seeing you don’t have the dumpster or generator. I like the willpower, how it’s easier to get the +1 from debris, and that he cuts the range in half of opposing figures in his range not just ones targeting him so he helps out the whole team.
Mattlikethepaint, that's not how Unique Modifier is used in HeroClix. Unique Modifier means "X copies of this character will only apply this modifier once". Magneto gets a flat +1 from this ability.
Just used this figure and while he plays differently from the original, I think I like this new one a lot more. Way easier to keep his buffs and has a lot more staying power because of his regeneration. His range deterrent is still great and the added Sidestep makes him a lot more mobile than the original.
The +1 is qualified by "is he near Debris?" if yes, it's +1 to all stats.
That defence becomes much higher, put him in hindering as he should be near debris & you're maxing out at 21.
Put Legacy Scarlet Witch next to him and she can FREE FB enemies away and her Prob will help the 12/5 stick.
His range is a whopping 11 with 2 targets! Add his RS & S-step, what a swing.
Going back to Debris, for 5pts, put the Zero ring on him for that free piece of terrain. You can throw it it make it debris, EVERY turn.
Add Influence ring and you can place an enemy 1 square away to keep the distance and be doing Knockback on every attack to maintain the distance.
Hell, place that free Barrier and slam folks into it.
