So what happens to pieces that had Indomitable in the 2021 Rules?
I know indomitable is gone but these pieces were made before that.
They were made to have willpower are they just supposed to be nerfed now.
Or can they still use willpower like it’s a trait.
This ? Comes about after a post on Reddit that I never even thought of.
I’ve just been using them like they had traited willpower.

Nothing happens to them.
is the current standard symbol for defense, so they have a standard defense like any other character with going forward.
They can not use will, power unless they have it as printed power, can use from some source (like Q/PC/CE Team ability), or gain it in some way.
If any of the sentences would make more sense if the verb (or any other word) was a negative please treat it as such.
So those pieces are just all nerfed now.
I’m glad I’m a home player. I can just give them traited willpower.
Seems dumb that wizkids didn’t do something about this.
They're not nerfed. They still function the same. It's the ones without Indomitable that got buffed.
With any sweeping rules change stuff changes in relative power. That's just how it goes.
Non-binary. Please refer to me in "they/them" pronouns. Thank you.

That and has been giving out like candy (our 2479 modern pieces 1020 have ) seemingly at no real point cost.

They got nerfed because they all lost willpower.
That’s the thing that’s annoying me.
Those pieces were better with willpower and loosing it really hurts their playability.
I’m not saying their unplayable but then again in today’s game where their already over costed loosing a power that can turn the tide of a match is a big deal.
I just wish wizkids would of thought about this more. They should of kept the un-slashed shield as the default and had the slashed shield represent willpower like it did before.

I still believe this whole change happened because the new factory messed up and they didn't want to loose the money off a bunch of misprinted product.

I agree with this assessment.
I'd also add it seems like heroes got indom. more than villains so the boost to villains is kind of a nice balance IMO.
In fact this change made any older pieces without indom. a little less outdated by power creep. It's a good thing IMO.
Either way, new stuff will always dominate at the tournament level thanks to power creep.

Why wouldn't the factory lose money on having to make good on faulty product instead of WizKids? They've pushed sets back before.
I guess I’m just annoyed because it feels like the pieces just aren’t as good.
Sure every piece can take two actions in a row now, a thing that I never understood why they couldn’t anyway lol.
I think the house rule of willpower on a 6 is a interesting concept that I’ll try.

Yeah now that you mentioned villains got the indomitable shaft a lot of the time and I’d argue that a lot of villains had better stamina then the heroes.
That’s how I looked at indomitable was a stamina type thing.
Maybe that was the intention maybe it wasn’t idk.
