While we are getting the umpteenth version of Spider-Man and Wolverine, there are still oh so many more or less popular characters out there that are still waiting impatiently for their Heroclix debut. In this edition of Unclixed, it's the futurist foe of Spider-Man 2099, Tyler Stone!
In the year 2099, corporations run everything and Alchemax is the biggest company of them all. And the man running that company is Tyler Stone. Cold-hearted, greedy, and Machiavellian, he blackmails Miguel O'Hara into a situation that results in him becoming the Spider-Man of the future! And as if that wasn't enough to make Miguel hate Tyler, things get more intense when Miguel finds out Tyler is his biological father!
Why clix him? Of the very few and mostly outdated 2099 characters that exist in HeroClix, few of them are the villains of the story. And Tyler, even with nothing in terms of superpowers, is the number one villain of Spider-Man 2099! And since WizKids is big on sculpt reuse, we could also make his ancestor Tiberius "Ty" Stone, who was just as much a thorn in Miguel's side as Tyler.
Who would he play with? The future keyword would be our main thing in this piece. Scientist also. But, since he did time travel himself, you could also give him the past keyword.
What would his dial look like? Well, like a lot of normal folks in this game, he's not going to have a really colorful dial. We're looking at some degree of Leadership (He is a CEO, after all!) and probably some crazy Mastermind special power. He manipulates a lot of people, so maybe some form of Mind Control?
What would your idea of a dial for Tyler Stone look like, folks? Feel free to reply as that's it for this edition of Unclixed! Be here next week for an all new Comic Accurate! And in two weeks, we spotlight someone else!
I don't know the character, but if he's a time traveller, did he bump into or team up with himself at all? Because you could make him like Multiple Man where, if he's hit, then he spawns 'past' versions of himself in adjacent squares. And if he's some kind of mastermind, maybe he can have a special power "once for all characters with this trait' where he gets outwit if he's adjacent to another copy of himself. And maybe he has perplex, so getting several of him on the board would be a real benefit to your team.

Nope. He time travelled to the “present”, long before he was born, and ran a offshoot of The Hand called The Fist, of which none of those characters exist in HeroClix either. And then he sorta got killed.
At least the version of Tyler Stone that’s from the timeline Peter David was writing. There’s other 2099’s and other Tyler Stones, but those have less appearances to mine for dials. 2099 “continuity” is complex.
Oh, man. I love to hate to love Tyler Stone. For all of his smarmy businessman oiliness, he was still charming in his own way. Plus, there were his behind-the-scenes machinations manipulating people while still being subordinate to Herod.
As far as the time travel stuff, in my fanon, Spider-Man 2099 ended with issue 44 and Spider-Man 2099 never appeared in any main Marvel titles again other than the alternate version who appeared in Exiles.
As far as Tyler up to issue 44, this is what I'd have:
#001 Tyler Stone
Real Name: Tyler Stone
Team: No Affiliation
Range: 0
Points: 55
Keywords: future, Spider-Man Family

Role Tag: Shadowy Manipulator...: Tyler Stone can use Stealth. ...Being Manipulated: Characters named Herod or Avatarr can use Mind Control but only to target Tyler Stone even if friendly. Miguel O'Hara's Father: Tyler Stone cannot be chosen for the Call In Help From the Spiderverse trait except by characters named Spider-Man 2099 or with the real name Miguel O'Hara. Ruthless: Precision Strike. Tyler Stone gets attack +2 when attacking a character with the real name Miguel O'Hara or Kron Stone. Holographic Projection: The first time Tyler Stone would be KO'd this game, instead return him to this click. He cannot be targeted by characters named Spider-Man 2099, Conchata O'Hara, or with the real name Miguel O'Hara. Survived the Assassin's Bullet: Stop. Free: At the beginning of your turn, choose one: Outwit, Perplex, or Leadership but only succeeds on a 6.
This assumes, of course, that some of the Spider-Man supporting characters also get created. (Where is my Venom 2099 with penetrating Poison, dangit?) The "only succeeds on a 6" is because after he recovered sufficiently, he came back to find Miguel as head of Alchemax and his personal power much reduced. The Leap/Climb on the last click is because he now had a hoverchair and pairs with the holographic projection aspect as it let him be places he normally wouldn't be able to access.
Of course, the dial overly wordy and might create rules contradictions, which is why it fits with modern dial design. (Also, this is my first ever custom dial attempt so criticism is welcome.)
One of the powers says that this is miguel's father. Is this right?
Um. Heh. Spoiler.
Yes, it is. Spider-Man overhears his mother and Tyler arguing, and she says Miguel always thought she didn't like him as much as his brother because he reminds her too much of her husband, but she always had a problem with him because he reminds her too much of his father Tyler.
