Welcome to the July Dial Design Contest! These are the general rules of the contest are simple:
Anyone can submit and/or cast votes during any of the three rounds. Each round features a new design parameter and participants have a week to complete, submit, and edit their single-dial (unless otherwise specified) entry right here in the thread, after which the community will vote on their favourite dials. At the end of the voting phase, the most votes win the round, and the most votes after three rounds wins the contest. Constructive comments are always welcome. Language not conducive to the current PAC (including updates from SMBA) may affect a judge's voting consideration, so please avoid use of retired terms and symbols. Character selection may come from any medium unless specified, but references for non-mainstream characters should be included. Please use the Dial Generator provided in the Units section.
As a meta rule, during voting phases, please do not quote entire dials when making comments, to make things easier to read.
Round deadlines will be the following: ROUND 1:
ENTRIES JULY 1 – 7, VOTING FROM JULY 8 – 14 ROUND 2:
ENTRIES JULY 8 – 14, VOTING FROM JULY 15 – 21 ROUND 3:
ENTRIES JULY 15 – 21, VOTING FROM JULY 22 – 29
With the final winner being announced JULY 30. (Extra day due to board technical issues!)
SPECIAL SCRIPT: HEROCLIX COMMUNITY THEATRE Each entry this month will have a weekly prompt, but the overall theme of your characters should be “novice”, “amateur”, low production, or generally anything pre a finished product. Take any of that to mean whatever it means to you and run with it!

Vampiric Power: Count Dracula begins the game on click 3. // Steal Energy, when he uses it he may heal past his starting line.
Lord of the Night: Mind Control, only on friendly characters with the Castlevania, Monster, or Mystical keywords. When he uses it, he is not given an action token after actions resolve (But may not take another non-FREE action this turn).
DESIGN NOTES: I'm going to try for a Castlevania theme this month, parameters permitting, and round 1's idea of the month theme is a "Budget" Dracula. One that won't break your point bank to play him, even if it means he's not representing full power Dracula to do it.

Predator: Stealth, Charge. When using Charge, don't halve speed, and modify attack +1 for each action token on target. Zoologist: Defend, Empower, Enhancment, Outwit, Perplex, and Support, but only affects other characters with the Animal Keyword. Man-Bat Serum: POWER: Choose a friendly character within range and lline of fire (X). Until you choose again, even if this power is lost, X has , the Animal keyword, and the standard powers on this card (except Earthbound/Neutralized). If X is Man-Bat, instead deal this character 1 damage.
SIGNIFICANT APPEARANCE: Batman #655 (2006) CHARACTER BACKGROUND: Dr. Kirk Langstrom's attempt to derive sonar sense from the DNA of a bat succeeded—at the cost of his own humanity. As the monstrous Man-Bat, Langstrom satiated his new thirst for blood by feasting upon cattle and, eventually, humans. Although time and again restored to his human state, and remorseful for his murderous frenzies, the troubled scientist never fails to repeat his experiment—with the same disastrous results.

Ossification: When Dr. Death would take damage from an attack, after resolutions, give him Bone Growth tokens equal to the amount of damage he took.Protected: Pulse Wave. My research was always about strengthening your body, making it tougher!: Regeneration. Dr. Death can reduce penetrating damage. When Dr. Death is hit by an attack, you may remove any number of Bone Growth tokens, and reduce damage equal to the amount of tokens removed. My body blooms with each attack!: Giant Reach: 3, Blades/Claws/Fangs. When Dr. Death uses Blades/Claws/Fangs, you may remove up to 3 Bone Growth tokens and increase the d6 roll by the number of Bone Growth Tokens removed.
Design Notes: This is from my Detective Comics set, where he is meant to be a chase. I'm a little unsure if the wording on his powers works, so let me know if anyone sees a problem. He's from the Batman: Zero Year storyline, about the earliest days of Batman and his battles against the Red Hood. If that makes him count as a "novice" I'll take it. He could also count as not being a "finished product" as his experimental bone treatment doesn't quite work right yet.

But the box, I leave in yours: At the start of your first turn, an opposing player may choose to equip the Lament Configuration to a character on their force, unequipping it from any other character. Explorers in the further reaches of experience: Stealth, Sidestep. If an opposing character is equipped, The Priest can use Phasing/Teleport. We have such sights to show you: Precision Strike, Incapacitate. Hit targets that are equipped are dealt 1 penetrating damage after actions resolve. Enough is a myth: Exploit Weakness, Steal Energy. If the Priest hits an equipped character, after resolutions they may heal 1 additional click.
Accept the pain you have wrought: Exploit Weakness
Greater delights await: Precision Strike
We wish to see you proceed: Perplex
We will not be denied: Invincible
Our gifts are boundless: Impervious
Feed it. Mind control
Their pain. Penetrating/Psychic Blast
Our power lies in dominance: Toughness
You'll feel it all before we're through: Sidestep
All you can do is search for greater thresholds: Phasing/Teleport
Lament Configuration
Equip: Any
Unequip: KO
20 points
Keywords: Cenobite
Effect: If the Lament Configuration was equipped due to a trait, the equipped character has: At the beginning of your turn, you must deal 1 unavoidable damage to an adjacent friendly character. Choose 1 effect to gain until you choose again. Lament: Support Lore: Outwit Lauderant: Mind Control Liminal: Super Senses Lazarus: Regeneration Leviathan: Close Combat Expert
If the Lament Configuration was equipped at the beginning of the game, Attack and Defense +1 and Cosmic Energy.
Design notes: The Hell Priests of the Hellbound Heart/Hellraiser series have always been my favorite movie monster. Keep your Draculas, your Kruegers, your slashers. These things are cultured, aware, brilliant on a level humans can't touch. And while Doug Bradley will always be the best, Jamie Clayton's portrayal from last year is hauntingly good. Fun fact-the character is only known as Pinhead thanks to the movies. In the books and even the movie script, they are just "the Priest."
For the box, I wanted to give it a lot of oomph. You can offer it to your opponent, and they get a buff, but it bleeds them every turn. But if they don't take it, The Priest goes off.

Just in case, her bystanders get the Monster keyword. Finally, her imperfect control of her power should qualify her as an amateur or unfinished version of a hero, especially since her chance to grow into her power was denied.
Imaginary Friends!: POWER: Generate a Friend bystander (MAX: 3) in an unoccupied square within four squares of Dorothy. // When a friendly Friend bystander would be KO'd by an opposing attack, you may instead deal Dorothy 1 unavoidable damage. Protected: Pulse Wave.

And I Would've Gotten Away with It: Shape Change. When an opposing charater uses Perplex choose one: Remove an action token from Black Knight -or- choose one of Black Knight's combat values to modify by +1 until the end of your next turn. Elaborate Chase Scene: Side Step. Willpower. Once per turn, when Black Knight moves adjacent to an opposing character, after actions resolve you may deal that character 1 penetrating damage. Comes Alive When the Moon is Full: Stealth. Charge, but do not half speed if occupying hindering terrain.

Look there were many great things about the first Scooby Doo series, but you would be hard pressed to call it a high production value show. In any case not only does this bad guy come from that first series, but is in fact from the very first episode.

Durin's Bane: At the beginning of the game, choose a keyword. Characters with the chosen keyword modify attack -1 when attacking The Balrog. Dragged Down With It: STOP. Invulnerability. // When this click is revealed, place the character that last damaged The Balrog adjacent, then roll a d6 and deal them unavoidable damage equal to half the result. Lash Of The Balrog: Giant Reach: 3, Exploit Weakness, Battle Fury.
Design Notes: I had a hard time trying to make this guy fit the theme of novice or amateur, so I went with the idea of keeping him lower cost to go for low production since he only appears for a few scenes in the movies.
Movement: Charcters Silver Bridge, West Virginia: POWER:Choose a square of Blocking Terrain or a terrain marker within 4 squares and line of fire. Destroy it, and deal all characters adjacent and occupying it 1 penetrating damage Harbringer of Disaster: Red Rally: 6. Probability Control, Remove a Rally token, Critical Hits and Critical Misses can not be rereolled by characters within 4 squares of Mothman Strange Sightings: Point Pleasant, 11/15/1966: Energy Shield/Deflection, Super Senses. When Mothman is attacked, after resolutions you may move him 1 square.

(Shape Change) Is that an owl or some kind of bird?
(Perplex) What is that?
