So, it's better (for you) than you thought. "Kate and Lucky" made a Lucky standalone figure which went to grab the pizza. That Lucky still has the Pizza. He'd need to drop it (next turn, since you can't pick up and drop an object on the same turn) so that "Kate and Lucky" could pick it up. (A very convoluted process for this) Since "Kate and Lucky" don't have the pizza, it's just a regular Shape Change roll, which they would have failed and even with CR, Star-Lord's 10 would have hit. The 3 Damage goes through.

Changes what I had planned, but since it's giving me a target, I will work with that.
