Personally I wasn't super interested in KEVIN. He's good, it'd be cool to own him, but he was never one I was gonna hunt down. I'll agree the rollout was ridiculous, but at least they're trying. I also wonder if maybe they're using KEVIN as a lure since a lot of people sounded upset with how they managed Worlds last year & were planning on skipping it to make a point. But what do you all think?
If you think about it, its overly kind...a STEVE! can get you a Kevin...at the very least since its an ULTRA chase they couldve made it a Chase and another chase or Prime for the Kevin and it still wouldve been fair.

Actually, what do we call this piece now? We can probably dispense with referring to it as an Ultra Chase. Promo, LE, but it was about as much of an Ultra Chase in Next Phase as Common Deadman. You had no chance of pulling either one of those in Next Phase.

1. It’s something, at least.
2. It still avoids admitting fault. A mea culpa would have gone a long way.
3. It’s HORRIBLY region-locked to those who can travel to gencon.

Gen Con badges are sold out. Unless you are going or know someone, not in the cards to pick one up there. I have plenty of friends on their way there today. To late for me.

3. If WKs was doing WKOs again or hooking up the ROC with these KEVINs, that'd be fine. Or maybe one or both of those are part of the plan. But, fine by me to start the distribution with those who made the effort to get to GenCon.

That one has to give up something they purchased for something that should've been plausible to obtain through purchase seems silly.
IMHO, At this point, it makes just as much sense to retcon the piece into being a con exclusive.
Given some of those chases can be had for as low as $10, it's a fantastic deal. Pulling an ultra chase would have been low plausibility anyhow if KEVIN had been packed in there, so this is sweet, and they are trying to connect it to people who actually bought into the set.

It's up at the Wizkids facebook page. In the comment section of the post, it seems a lot of people are still pissed even with this resolution.
This is going to be crazy, as I am certain there will be groups looking to make the trade ASAP... there may even be a run on singles (and even bricks) to have fodder for the trade. I suspect there will be a LOT of resellers and/or their reps trying to take advantage of the trade.
I'm not going to GenCon, but you had better believe I'd trade my Steve for K.E.V.I.N.

For the "power" gamers, it's an instant upgrade over anyone but the Deities. So for people with a Steve!, Zemo, and Baby Groot, it's an instant and unqualified win.
For the people with a She-Hulk, Two Hulks, Kate and Lucky, or Jack and Elsa, it's a definite improvement.
For JD Vance, he's never giving up the Wong and Madisynn, and you can't pry it from his hands.
If all you have is one of the gods of the Nile, you're probably not touching this, as you've already got one of the best/only competitive pieces this set offers.
There's collectors out there that might have traded away all of their spares already, but I bet there's more people that pulled a second crap-tier chase-which sadly, this set was full of-and haven't been able to trade it yet. All they have to do is get to the GenCon.
So yeah. I'm pretty sure anyone who can take advantage of this offer is going to be pretty happy. It'll be interesting what it does to the KEVIN prices on the secondary market as well, based on how many people take advantage of this offer and how many have friends they can hand a chase to and say "walk up to this booth with me."

I still wouldn't trade a deity for KEVIN, but KEVIN is going to be a lot more playable in Modern once the Porters go. It actually is pretty good now (I've played against it) but the Porters are just better.

If I were going to GenCon, I would trade the single chase I pulled from sealed events (Zemo) in a heartbeat. I mean, I have no idea what K.E.V.I.N. does, but it's got to be more useful than Zemo.
Zemo's got a cute gimmick, but I can't think of any way I would put him on the table over almost any other decent attack piece.
