The Silver Age of comics. When comics were fun and full of Bam!s and Pow!s and the words dark and gritty hadn't been invented yet. Everyone had kid sidekicks and goofy powers and a giant starfish was considered scary.

flyingicarus and I will be playing a game that tried to evoke that era. Only characters made before 1973, and no stupidly broken versions of figures (although you could argue that Silver Age Superman should be the most stupidly broken figure of all)

"I know, chum. We wouldn't normally team up with Starro, but there's a rift that's opened to another dimension, and their superbeings are going to try to take over our world. We have to work together to stop them," Batman said.

"Work with Starro? How do we know he's not controlling us?" Green Lantern asked.

"Do I look like I have a starfish on my face?" Black Canary asked him.

"No, babe. You look as gorgeous as always." Green Arrow said.

Speedy looked at Robin and made gagging motions at his mentor's flirty words.

"And what about me?" the Joker came in, banging the door open loudly as he entered. "This means you'll work with me too, right Batsy?"

Batman frowned and tried to refrain from saying what he was thinking. "If you promise to behave yourself, Joker."

"Oh I will, I promise!" the Joker said smarmily, but Starro alone noted that behind his back, the Joker's fingers were crossed.
