I really like Vision as a character, but I'm not sure what kind of team he could fit in. We play mostly, if not exclusively 300point games. Any Ideas for how I could get a team to work with him?
Good things:
1. His dial is really really consistant.
2. Consistant dial
3. dial consistancy
Bad things:
1.low damage
2.high cost
3.similar consted figures should be able to do 4-5 damage(note. she-hulk, firelord, wonder women)
He's got phasing, useful in indoor maps.
So I came up with the conclusion to use him if you really, and I mean really really like him, and you don't want to win, or having a winning team.
There is however one way to use him to win in a tournment, or among friends. Use the following team and make sure to pick an indoor map. And make sure it's a mixed universe game.
112 U Vision
174 V Doomsday
--------------------
total = 286
for a 300 point game, simply pick vision and Doomsday, and don't pick anyone else with the remaining 14 points.
start the game with Doomsday carry a heavy object. Now have vision carry around Doomsday. Doomsday should smash the heavy object on someone in the first opportunity, smash it on someone with 5 health or less and have no damaging reducing powers (thugs, henchman, medics). Make sure to kill someone worthe at least 8 points with 1 hit of 5 damage. Now push next turn to have Doomsday run back to vision, and vision just phase around avoiding the opponent for the rest of the game.
Now wait out the rest of the game by having vision phase around and hope they don't outwit your phasing. Avoid your opponent until the timer expires.
You win since you should have at least 294 points, and your opponent lose by having less than or equal to 292 points.
Again, this only works in indoor terrain, and it's the best way to use Vision to his full potential and win.
Owen: Luke, take these two over to the garage will you, I want them cleaned up before dinner.

I would call it a very cheesy strategy, but what can I say, if you really want to use Vision and WIN, use this one, it's got a pretty good chance in a tournment by being cheesy. Just make sure to run out of there fast when the tournment is over.

I actually was thinking more for non tournie friendly games. in a tournament the idea is to win at all costs, though if you can avoid lactose, the more the better.
if you don't want to WIN and be friendly, that's fine. Just pick Vision and play poorly throughout. Every time your opponent does something good, say phrases like: "good job!" "that's brillient!" "I never though of that!" "you're a very good player" all in a non-patronizing way.
Then continue to play games where he'll win most of the time.
In fact, if the game is going your way due to good dice rolls, make very bad strategic decisions, and make sure he doesn't see that you're purposefully doing it.
After several games of this, he'll love to play with you.

Hey, don't get mad, I didn't write a half a page's worthe of stuff just to get you mad. I'm just trying to figure out a way to make Vision worth his points and got sarcastic when you made that Friendly game comment.
You can don't listen to me if you want, but I'm just trying to help.

One of my friends has a pretty effective Avengers team with Vision. It is a 300 pt team:
U Vision
V Hawkeye
E Wasp
LE Antman
V Black Panther
Basic way he plays Vision is to grab a heavy object and a character (usually Black Panther for claws) and maneuver into position with Phasing. He also tries to keep Vision on his first click for as long as possible (for Invuln) but then doesn't worry too much about pushing him once he is knocked off the first click since his numbers are pretty flat along his dial.
Come to think of it, he may use U Wasp and E Black Panther.
