Another fine bout between Gargantua and FlyingIcarus. The concept is to pick a team and redo it with the following ideas:
1) One figure must actually belong to that team
2) All figures take on THAT team ability
3) All figures carry any team ability they had with them to this new team.
4) We roll to see who picks a team first then reveal members 1 by 1.
Example is it's ok to call it an Avengers team, and therefore all figures get the Avenger team ability, if R or V Thor was in it.
If V Rogue were in this team, she would have the Avengers ta plus she could use the X-Men ta with another member of that Avengers team. (Thor however would only have the Avengers ta in this example).
So far we've agreed on a 600 point team and that we won't chose the Mystics or Batman Ally ta as our main teams since that would be too big an advantage.
Rolled a 9. Legion ability. (to be honest I'm wondering what teams are fair). Take this one. If I have a mystic on this team then they all get that abililty. They can use the Superman enemy ability if I have 1 Superman enemy on the team. o as long as I have Bizarro on the team, then Boom Boom and Vulture can be adjacent and Boom Boom gets outwit...Wild Card and Superman ally teams are just too powerful.
So I need you to decide which of the 3 approaches to take:
A) We both just take Wildcard teams. Lots of bonuses but we'll have to think really hard on working this.
B) Eliminate Wildcards and Superman Enemy along with Mystics and Batman Ally.
C) Throw all options back into the fray and go for it.
Seems to me like taking a wildcard as the primary team ability sort of defeats the purpose. If you wanted to run a game with everyone being allowed to Wildcard any friendly team abililty, we could try that, I guess, but it would be very tricky.
Perhaps we should work our way up to it, start with something more like what you originally described and see how that goes. Once we are used to that, then we can try it with the wildcard variant.
And I agree that Superman Enemy would probably also be broken. Way too much Outwit.
OK that being understood I choose Masters of Evil. Keep in mind that all other team abilities still apply. Wildcards are still able to use any team ability on the team.
It strikes me that you should be able to choose your default "required" team member before any other choices are made, so next post why not go ahead and choose both your Master of Evil, and whoever else will be your first draft.
For my "true" JSA member, I'm going to take Dr. Fate (E, since that's the only version with the TA).
Well I prefer by far the heroes. I love the JSA, Avengers, X-Men HOWEVER for the purpose of this game the Masters of Evil ta will allow me more free moves. The JSA team ability is also useful , just not quite as much.
Whirlwind V is my required Masters of Evil. I was going to suggest this figure be a bigger piece in the game and if you like I can do that.
