To clarify a bit more to anyone who might follow this game: The idea is to come up with the best 300 point team based on the established Marvel and DC Heroclix teams. Gargantua and FlyingIcarus each choose 11 teams that will be theirs for round 1. For various reasons we eliminated the other teams.
Gargantua chose a heavily DC oriented sets of teams: JLA, Injustice Society, JSA, Titans, Superman Ally, Superman Enemy, Green Lantern Corps, Sinister Syndicate, Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men and the FF.
For FlyingIcarus it's the Avengers, the Ultimates, Defenders, Brotherhood, Masters of Evil, Minions of Doom, X-Men, Legion, Batman Ally, Batman Enemy, Mystics.
Round one will have Gargantua's 11 vs. FlyingIcarus' 11. The survivors will go out to round 2. Whomever wins the most games chooses first of the surviving teams (in the case of a tie we'll roll for it).
Round two will bring us to half the original set. Again the winner of the last round chooses first. We continue rounds until we get to the final round of 2 teams.
We'll play a Wildcard game between the two of the winning teams that did worst (lost most figures, by points) between rounds 1 and 2 and rounds 2 and 3 to lose the extra odd team
Our only real rules so far: 300 point team (no less than 290 or more than 305). To avoid too big advantages of team abilities ONLY the figure with the most points can use the team ability. If that figure falls the next highest point valued figure gets it.
Results so far:
Game 1: Masters of Evil vs. Superman Enemies:
Winner: Masters of Evil (268 points still standing)
Game 2: Fantastic Four vs. Batman Enemies
Still in progress
"Zounds, Thunder God. Another battle for which to display my superior Olympian might for all to see! Thou should try to keep, old friend!" the jovial Hercules taunts.
"Worry for thyself, Hercules. Thou knowest Thor's valor is second to none," Thor responds.
"Wonderful," chimes in Sersi, "Stuck in the word of "thees and thous" and me without a translating dictionary. Say Panther, ever wonder why a Roman and Norwegian God would converse in old English anyway?"
Black Panther responds, "I try not to overthink things, Sersi. and stay focused on the job at hand. We don't know much about these Green Lanterns so teamwork will be key. Avengers Assemble!"
The chimney squares are actually a second level of elevated terrain, not hindering. You would need leap/climb or flight to get up on them. And they wouldn't hide Black Panther, I'm afraid.
If that really throws off your plan, we can play them as hindering for this game if you like, though. I'm sure you probably would have set up your objects differently had you been aware.
"...let those who worship evil's might
beware my power, Green Lantern's light!"
Hal Jordan finished his oath. He looked to the building across the street. His opponents seemed ready for a fight. Well, he might be only one man, but he wore the most powerful weapon in the universe. If they wanted a fight, he'd give them one. He'd faced worse odds.
"Hey, Hal, looks like you could use a hand with these poozers."
"Kilowog!" the Green Lantern of Earth turned surprised. His fellow Lantern was an odd-looking alien, but a stauncher ally he couldn't hope for. "Old friend. This is a surprise."
"well, I happened to be passing by the sector and thought I'd drop in to see how my Terran pals were doing."
"You couldn't have come at a better time. With your help, I have no doubt we're more than a match for these Avengers."
"Right, then. Let's do this thing."
