“Quicksilver,” Cap yelled, projecting his voice across the street. “Don’t let Klaw get away!”
“He’s not going anywhere,” Quicksilver said, slamming a couple extra punches into the villain’s face for good measure. Cap strapped his shield across his back and moved in to question the prisoner.
“Ulysses,” Cap said slowly, “Are you working with the Masters of Evil?”
“The Masters of Evil? Why would you think that?”
“A lot of people that have worked with the Masters have been surfacing lately. You and Whirlwind are just the latest of them. Is Zemo behind this?”
“Well, to answer your first question, Captain, there’s something like the Masters of Evil. But to answer your second question, Baron Zemo has nothing to do with this. We’ve sort of been, well, outsourced.”
“To whom?” Cap asked shortly.
“To me,” a purple-clad man behind Cap said, laughing. “You would not believe how many times I’ve said that in my many years of grand entrances.”
Captain America didn’t need to turn around to know that Kang was behind him. “Wanda,” he said quietly, calmly. “Open a portal and pull Bruce down here. Right now.”
“Cap,” Quicksilver said quickly, “Wanda can pull objects and stuff out of portals, but not people. It’ll take too much energy out of her.”
Wanda didn’t listen. As she opened up a portal, Kang lowered his oversized gun and shot a thick beam of pure energy at her. Timing it perfectly, Cap threw his shield, blocking the beam before it could hit Wanda. As Cap moved to pick up his shield, Bruce Banner walked through the portal, which closed shortly after. Wanda fainted from exhaustion.
“I told you!” Quicksilver said, “She can’t take that.”
“So you’ve traded one fighter for another,” Kang began. “Perhaps it was a good tactical decision. The two soldiers that are with me may not be as good as the ones you’ve subdued, but I could take you all without them.”
“Big talk, Kang, for someone who’s been beaten so many times. Care to back it up?”
Kang laughed confidently. “Would you like a running start?” He asked, as he warmed up a proximity bomb.
Cap and Quicksilver stay at O-10 and Q-15. Bruce will be at J-10. Kang is at K-15, and his two soldiers (V Henchmen) are at J-14 and L-16. Even though Kang made time for witty banter, he did have the element of surprise, so he’ll start out with a Pulse Wave. Since this is a 150 point game, and Cap has Leadership, it’ll be 1 action per turn, with a caveat. Kang will have Leadership with only a 5-6 making it (since Cap has the +1 bonus, he has twice as much chance of getting the Leadership roll as Kang). This is a bit different, but let’s give it a try.
Oh yeah. Were you waiting for me this whole time? Oops.
TURN 1
Kang's got a death wish out on his Henchmen, I guess, but I'll stick to the Pulse Wave anyway. 12 attack versus up to 18 defense. He gets a 5.
Alright, I hate to admit the GM isn't sure about the rules, but I know Pulse Wave ignores damage-reducing powers. Does it ignore ES/D? If so, Kang hit everyone. If not, he just takes Bruce off of his first activation click, and hits his two henchmen.
Your turn.
Pardon me while I drop in. With the other scenarios the RookieBats did, all figs go back to their first click, so Cap is only 1 click down. ( Just trying to help ya get going and help RookieBats out)
TURN 2, Part 1.
K-18 is fine. Said Henchman will attack Quicksilver, 6 to 18, oh well. He rolls an 11. What a waste.
The other Henchman rolls for breakaway, and fails.
Recap:
Kang K-15
V Henchman 1 J-14 @
V Henchman 2 K-18 @ (2 clicks)
