Okay: What does it mean for a game that is supposed to be simple when the "starter" set for beginners contains several errors requiring an online errata list, and what does it say about a company that is "reprinting" figures and still ends up with several mistakes?
any chance we can get MyRealms to cross reference the universe set, either cloning entries in our collections or allowing us to choose a format to work with when creating a team?
I gather that there were quite a few printing errors for MK's Dark Riders too - WK must have changed their printers, personnel or process.
This is quite vexatious because there's no easy way to use this errata during play. When it's something like "This figure should have a damage value of 2 on its second click, and should not have the Stealth power on its last click." then you have the difficulty of not knowing what click a figure is on, just by looking at it. And the use of "cheat sheets" which track the dials of each figure are officially considered to be cheating.
Someone suggested using the white stickers to record details of figure errata. But I don't think they supply those any more and, in any case, I don't like using them with the new-style bases. One might mark the bases up with a pen but, again, there's a cheating issue.
Now it doesn't matter much in this case because not many players will be buying much Universe. But if Ultimates is screwed up like this then there will be real trouble. But how do we know that there haven't been lots of screw-ups like this in the past. It's only obvious in this case because there's something else to compare it to. The figure gallery has always contained discrepancies - it seems impossible to get this figure data transcribed without error. They had to have two tries at this errata sheet because they initially worked from the figure gallery and that's wrong in the case of Wolverine.
I've always hated errata in CCGs because the golden rule for those games should be that the cards do what they say - you want to know what a card does - you read it. HeroClix used to be better in that, while the rules and PAC might change, the figures were, with few exceptions, definitive. And those exceptions were fairly obvious, e.g. the Riddler misprints. It's a sad day now that this has changed too for HeroClix

This does make one wonder about the discrepancies between the WK figure gallery and the actual figures. How many figures are wrong, but never corrected by errata?
Well, firelord for one. I remember hearing back when IC first came out that during testing, he was to either have 3 natural dmg or 1 dmg with RCE, but he ended up with both 3 dmg and RCE.
as unreasonable as it sounds, i wish wizkids would have some kind of exchange program or just ban the erroneous pieces from tournament play altogether.
