If I am using (R) Invisible Girl and her defend ability with Wolverine who has toughness. Someone then attacks and hits Wolverine, do I still get to use his toughness?

Also can I use defend on all adjacent figures or just one?

Defend is a replacement value. What it does is any friendly figure adjacent to the figure with defend has it's defensive VALUE replaced by the figure with Defend.

Since only the defensive VALUE is replaced, all other powers and effects in that (or any other) slot remain the same.
