Annie and I just played through her second game last night. This time she went through her box of pieces and found Lockjaw. She loves the comic so she wanted to field him alongside Black Bolt. I used Nightrunner and Grifter to balance it out (sort of).

This time we brought ranged combat into the game, and Annie picked up the idea of hindering terrain and elevated terrain well.

Like I thought, my nine-year-old was super excited to finally learn to play. We went over the dial and what all of the numbers meant.

We used the watchtower map, and she used Dove and Black Canary while I chose Hawk and Lady Blackhawk. My daughter locked down Hawk quickly with both characters and came out swinging.
