I don't get the hate on this guy.
There are better figs, but he's no slouch. Use him to TK, and hold back a couple turns for him to clear. With a RunShot range of 15, he can stay waaay out of the fight, then deal 3 DMG, push for another 3 DMG, clear and then deal 4 DMG (10 total DMG) and he still has a 10 AV with 4 DMG at range, AND he's still 10 spaces away. If he's sitting over hindering, he has a 20 DV at range on his top two clicks. And he's a scientist, which gives you more damage output potential. A lot of modern age figs top out at 6-7 clicks- he can score a lot of KO's if he's backing up another attacker.

Wow, this is the most inaccurate post I've ever read on this forum. I know you wrote it last year, but what you said was such crap I just had to respond. You do realize that by comparing doctor polars to 5 other figures that each have ONE of his powers is just pointing out that polars has the same powers as 5 other figures for the point cost of 1. Lol. Im willing to bet you've never seen this figure go down, in fact this figure has put you down so your giving it a bad rep. This is one of the best support figures I've seen in this game. With his energy shield deflection his defense stars go up very high. With his great range and rce he is a nice attacker, and of course let's not forget 5 clicks of running shot which is insane, and 5 clicks of support. This is a wonderful piece and I would use him against you if given the chance. Also....the sculpt is well done. Any other incarnation of this character would have looked silly.

After all of these new sets came out, all of these great new figures with wonderful specials are flooding the board. Despite this I STILL use Dr. Polaris on my team. With rule changes for standard powers he just got better. His support will always at least heal one. His forceblast now allows him to knockback an opponent TEN squares away and his quake will cause knockback even if he doesn't deal damage. But the best factor would be his range combat expert. Now he can increase his dwindling, aged attack values to make sure he hits. I like the fact he starts as a healer then turns into a secondary attacker. He is the D.C. version of MAGNETO and although he's not nearly as powerful, he always earns his pointcost on my team. His energy shield deflection on his top dial gives him an impossible to hit 19 defense. Park him in hindering and now you have a healer/body guard with a 20 defense. Still one of my favorite d.c. characters and game pieces.

Ok, you know what? This is the last straw. STOP attacking other peoples' posts on how crappy certain figures are! It's rude. Feel free to disagree, but do it with respect. Incidentally, DiscoBandit was spot on, this piece sucks; he's horribly over costed, then and now. I know you always try to see the plus side of figures, which is fine, but again, respect other peoples' opinions. (Between you and me, pal, other people have commented on your posts, and they're not very good ones, FYI. Don't be a dink.) Sheesh...

19 defense, 10 range and five clicks of support is overcosted? Learn how to play the game . Also your oddly placed rant would've served better on another one of my post (where im actually arguing ) here it looks like your yelling at nobody. I wasn't contradicting anyone, dr. Polaris DID get a boost with the updated pac. I thought I would express how cool that was and single out each attribute. And didn't you do the EXACT thing your accusing me of recently on a Diablo figure? Yes...you did! I wrote why he's a great figure and you followed up on how I was wrong! So im a "dink " and your a hypocrite? Fyi I really could care less what people think.....im here to discuss heroclix mechanics NOT make social friends. But thank you for your illplaced opinion. If you can't see the potential in individual pieces may I suggest monopoly? Or perhaps candyland?

Um, no, the Diablo post was meant to strongly disagree with you in a respectful manner; calling someone else's viewpoint a 'load of crap' to DiscoBandit is (was) dis-respectful, especially over plastic dollies, dude. It clearly demonstrates your lack of maturity. Furthermore, how was my rant NOT well placed, lol...?? I don't like it when others try to downgrade others opinions. I'm not, shall we say, 'slightly ticked' because you think Polaris is good. I'm slightly ticked because you seem to think it's ok to simply act like a dink to others while expressing your opinion(s). If you can't see that, well that's too bad.

In all fairness, that particular rude post WAS from almost a year ago. The recent post actually wasn't too bad.

True, but this isn't the first time he (InfinityWatch) has pulled this; (also the first time I've read his comment here, btw.) I call it like I see it. Words have an effect on people, even by people unseen.

Ok so It is MY opinion that Dr. Polaris is a decent figure and it is YOUR opinion that I am a "dink"? So are we good now? If not then go ahead and copy and paste some of my comments and report me. Maybe with enough incessant whining you will get me an infraction or perhaps banned from the board. If that's what you want then I really can't stop you. But just know that im not purposely a "dink". This is just the way I talk and express my opinion. But really do you have THAT much time to campaign against my membership because we don't see eye to eye or you think im being mean. Also the "rude" comment in question from almost a year ago is written in the same tone as who I was responding to. He bluntly downed the figure with little to no supporting facts or examples. He just claimed it was the worst figure in the set, which seemed rude to me.

Owlman I need you to reread your rant based on what you are accusing me of and then go read what u said to me on the diablo vet comments. Come on man.....don't ignore the truth. You did exactly what your complaining about me doing. Which in turn makes your claims invalid.

Like his costume choices, Dr. P hasn't aged very well. While I like seeing Support as just one of many options, it's clear that you are paying heavily for throwing that option in the pile. His claim to fame is still that really nice range, but he desperately needs to stay out of base contact and will be turned to mush by any brick-type fighter, against whose reducers he doesn't do much. It also costs a lot to give him all that Running Shot down dial when his combat values drop off. If only he had auto-breakaway and Willpower it would have made him more solid.
