WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD for episode five of What If...?

In a universe different from the way things play out in the MCU, Hank Pym makes an awful discovery that deviates from how things worked out in Ant-Man & The Wasp, and Bruce Banner reaches Earth to warn the heroes about Thanos, only to find the Earth overrun by people-eating Zombies (that are acceptable by Disney+ standards, anyways)! The heroes starring in this episode are our team!

Why these figures - While I wouldn't scoff at the slightest if one wanted to use versions of the characters from the comics, I decided for fun's sakes to use MCU versions of folks where I could. This covered a good chunk of the team. But then there were characters that don't have their MCU version in HeroClix, so I went with comic versions; Okoye, Happy Hogan. Those were easy. There's no version of Hope van Dyne, so Nadia seemed like a decent proxy. There's also no version of Kurt in HeroClix either, but David Dastmalchian was in The Dark Knight, so I went with a GCPD piece from the movie set. Then I just picked a Spidey that was relatively low cost to represent our young Peter and fill the remaining points.

Tips for running this team - No tips, unfortunately. I still have to catch up on all the new rule changes and how they'll affect old pieces, but using the SHIELD/PD TA's to boost up Winter Soldier's stats for a ranged attack should still be good, right? Happy taxiing in Panther and Okoye? These next bunch of articles are going to be as much me re-learning the game in a Golden Age setting as they are building teams from comics.

That was the one part of the build that just screamed "wrong" to me.
Especially since the one you posted is from the What If set!

Honestly, I completely glossed over it as I was searching for Spider-Man pieces that were 50 points. Since in the original draft I had the Pym Particles object also in the build, which would have been unusable by the character that used them in the episode. So I took them out and didn’t bother adjusting for the freed up points.

So yeah, I’m in full agreement to swap out that Spidey.
