Cracking open the secret stash to bring you the nearest thing we have to HeroClix: the video game, XCom: Fight for Your World offers updates to classic mechanics like Grenades and Hostages combined with ‘23 mechanics such as Mystery Cards and Special Terrain in a 70+ character set. Arm your resistance, investigate the opposition, and save the world.

XCom: POWER: Until your next turn, the first time an opposing character moves into a square within range and line of fire make a range attack targeting that character using this character’s printed combat values. UNCOPYABLE
Advent: Passengers:2. Once per turn, if no character made an attack since your last turn a friendly team character can use ‘FREE: Make an attack.’ UNCOPYABLE
Hostage Characters: A character played with a Hostage cost is a non-standard character that cannot be equipped, block line of fire, effect movement, pick up objects or carry and uses its orange starting line this game. When placing characters at the beginning of the game an opponent places any Hostage characters friendly to your force in squares at least 5 squares away from any starting areas. A character adjacent to an opposing Hostage character that didn’t begin the game on its force can use CLOSE: make a close attack targeting this Hostage that deals no damage. If successful place the Hostage on that character’s card. // A character with a Hostage on its card halves its Speed value and can use Battle Fury, SAFEGUARD: Range attacks, and ‘FREE: place a Hostage from this card in an adjacent square’ for as long as the Hostage is on its card. // When a character with a friendly Hostage on its card is hit by an attack you may choose that the attack deals no damage. If you do, place the Hostage in a square adjacent to the attacker and that Hostage can use Sidestep this turn. When a Hostage ends a turn in a starting area remove it from the game and the active player scores twice its points.
Grenade Symbol: Special Objects with this symbol are Grenades. Grenades are not unique and cannot be used as part of a CLOSE Terrain Attack. Characters with this symbol may begin the game with one of each Grenade listed on their card equipped at no cost. A character may EQUIP a Grenade even if that character is already equipped. While equipped a Grenade, the equipped character can use the THROW GRENADE ability. When a Grenade is destroyed in a RANGE Destroy Action the character that destroyed it can immediately use the THROW GRENADE ability using that Grenade but must choose the square the Grenade last occupied.
THROW GRENADE: RANGE Terrain Action: ⦿:Characters, Choose a square within range and line of fire using this object’s range. Make a range attack targeting all characters occupying and adjacent to the chosen square. Deal damage to hit characters according to the of this Grenade then remove it from the game.

EFFECT: Destroy all Blocking terrain within 2 squares of the chosen square. Hit characters are given a Fire token.
Fire Token: At the end of this characters turn deal it one penetrating damage. When this character clears action tokens or moves through a square of Water terrain remove this token from the game.
Acid Grenade, GRENADE, 5 points

EFFECT: Destroy all blocking terrain and place Acid terrain markers in the squares occupying and adjacent to the chosen square. Hit characters are given an Acid Burn token.
Acid Terrain: When a character without Movement: Elevated enters a square with an Acid terrain marker give it an Acid Burn token. At the end of each turn any Acid terrain markers that have been on the map since the beginning of the turn are removed along with any other non-debris terrain markers occupying their square. Acid Burn: A character with an Acid Burn token cannot reduce damage and is dealt 1 damage at the beginning of its turn. When a character with an Acid Burn token is healed or clears action tokens remove an Acid Burn token from that character.
Flashbang Grenade, GRENADE, 5 points

EFFECT: When using this Grenade as part of Throw Grenade the attack targets characters within 2 squares of the chosen square. Hit characters are given an action token and modify Attack -2 until your next turn.

EFFECT: Hit characters cannot draw lines of fire until your next turn. Place Smoke terrain markers in the chosen square and each square adjacent to it. Remove them from the game at the beginning of your next turn. // Friendly characters occupying terrain markers placed by this Grenade can use Stealth.

Death Is Not The End: POWER: Choose a character in your KO area, remove it from the game and generate a XCOM 052 Psi-Zombie on its starting click. It is 0 points for all game effects. Remove it from the game when this character is KO’d. Master Race of the Zudjari: Mind Control. When they do you may give a hit character an action token instead of making an attack.

HOSTAGE: I’ll Tell You Everything I Swear: Mastermind regardless of point value. When Panicked Citizen is on an opposing character card that character can use Mastermind. When Panicked Citizen is removed from the game characters opposing to the active player cannot use Stealth for the rest of the game.

Alien Scumbag!: FREE: Make an attack targeting an opposing character that damaged a friendly character since your last turn. HOSTAGE: Valuable Intel: Probability Control, but only when adjacent to a friendly character. When this Hostage is on an opposing character card that character can use Safeguard: Opposing Probability Control. Crystal Manifestation : When placing characters at the beginning of the game place Outsider on its card and place a Crystal Blocking Terrain marker with Indestructible in any square at least 5 squares from any starting area. When an action ends and there are no other characters on your force or a Crystal marker is within range and line of fire of another character replace it with Outsider from its card.
