Pros:
-Webshooters are back none of that organic ####.
-The world doesn't know he's Peter Parker again.
Cons:
-Spidey isn't married when the whole point of Spider-Man is to inspire the readers that they can win sometimes.
-Harry's alive when he shouldn't be.
-Spidey was never a teacher.
-The whole deal with Morlun (The Other), while a craptastic finish had a good moment of Spidey not giving up and such.
-Joe Quesada meets Deus ex Machina
-The state comics are in now makes me wanna puke and beat Brian Michael Bendis over the head with a baseball bat (Peanut Butter Jelly Time)
-The cons are more prevalent and catastrophic than the pros.
-Peter Parker makes deals with the devil because he's an idiot.
-Cap's not gonna come back now when he has to.
-This will end up affecting Heroclix somehow and it will piss me off.
-Venom can't exist now since he started with scaring MJ and whatnot - why did Spidey lose his black suit duds?
Eh . . .
I have no sekrets, I just am.
Want to see me strip, sing, screw up my lines, and dance for my senior year spring play? Then check this out!

Kinda out of left field. What's Bendis go to do with this?

Apparently, Peter and MJ have been together most of the time, just not married.
Which is a bogus explanation. Either you retcon stuff, or you don't. None of theis wishy-washy, have cake and eat it, vaguish, halfway cowardly pseudo-storytelling.
Spot on for your other points though.
Yoda of Borg, we are: Futile, resistance is. Assimilate you, we will.

well, it's just because they are begining to step back.
i'm sure this was not in the plans.
Is like when we have the "No previews" idea. look how happy the people are when you give what they want.
The main lesson to OMD/BND is that whatever happens in the Marvel Universe, it is of no consequence whatsoever, even within their own universe.
Nothing can ever occur in a comic that they are not willing to completely throw out. It's all "An imaginary story," a "What If?"
If tomorrow Mephisto wants to make a deal with Peter that is was Flash Thompson who got bitten by the spider, eradicating all continuity from day one, then so be it.
It doesn't even have to be internally consistent. For example, why doesn't Mephisto offer Reed Richards this deal: "Wouldn't you like to cure your friend Ben once and for all? How about this: I'll make it that you waited to put proper shielding on your spacecraft. No more accidental exposure to cosmic rays, no more Fantastic Four, and Ben will never have to be the Thing?"
I'd think Mephisto would love a world without the FF, and I'd think Reed would take him up on the offer. And if Reed doesn't, he spends eternity knowing that he chose to inflict suffering on Ben. Mephisto would love this. So why isn't this happening? Why isn't Mephisto offering all of Marvel's character's deals?
