THIS is the Brainiac that I've been waiting for in this game for 10 years. He's hands down my favorite Superman villain, and this is the DEFINITIVE version of him.
anybody know the best thing about his defense power? it can't be pulse waved away. that means you get to stop on it, but you get to roll imperv on a pulse wave.
If I'm playing Brainiac at 350 pts + 150pt character, and another player is also playing a 500pt character, does that mean the opponent's character is utterly useless due to having to subtract an action? I'm sure this will be fixed later to mean that the opponent actions are reduced by 1, but an opponent cannot have zero actions due to this power.
Well, ol' Psycho-Man will make it so Brainiac will take one damage from any attacks. Uh, which if he blows his Impervious Roll for the first few attacks, he'll only take one damage anyway.
Sabertooth...will...uh, Exploit Weakness, and the next click will show up as normal for the first couple, revealing that the dial needs to stop turning.
Hulk will...huh.
The power isn't countered, that's kind of interesting. I need to remember that. But, I think Hulk will go right through it.

In a 500pt game you have 5 actions so you would then have 4. The number of actions you have has nothing to do with the number of figures on your force.
Play with the 50 point Lex Luthor form sumperman fast forces for a 400 point team. Send brainiac out to do a ton of damage them after he has taken a few hits run him back to Lex give Lex a free action to Merge to the Lex Luthor brainiac Duo next turn split so that they're both top dial and repeat. As long as you can keep Lex safe Brainiac keeps getting healed.
I am curious how exactly this combo works? Which lex allows this to happen and how?

When you use the merge ability you go to the click number of the figure given the free action and when you split both figures come back on the click number of the duo figure. So if lex is top dial give him the free action to merge so lex/brainaic duo will be on top dial. Then when you split the duo next turn both lex and brainiac come back on the click that the duo was on. so if the duo was on top dial both lex and brainiac would come back top dial.

Unless its on the card I don't think you can just merge two clix like that. There are even qualifying names written for the Merging duos. You can't merge a Yellowjacket or Giant Man with Wasp for the Ant-man/Wasp Duo.

Merge and split are not powers specific to a particular figure they are powers granted by to single fist and duo fist symbols all figures now have them(except sharpshooters). As for qualifying names next player's guide will have updates to give qualifying names for the old duos. Also you can merge Yellowjacket or Giant man with wasp to make the Ant-man/wasp duo as long as the real name on the card says Hank Pym or Janet Van Dyne.
Yes totally agree with you on dealing with Worldbreaker quite easily! Imagine Brainiac on his second click and Brainiac can attack worldbreaker, if he hits worldbreaker with a ranged attack, per worldbreakers 'Everything he sees makes him angrier' white box, worldbreaker is or would be placed adjacent to brainiac. Worldbreaker than attacks brainiac, but per brainiacs 'I'll show you impervious' white box, brainiac is only taking 1 damage. Then it is Brainiac on his 3rd click with pulse wave and a 12 av 4 damage, worldbreaker taking that damage straight to his face. Which leaves worldbreaker on click 5, which is just a very unattractive set of stats against brainiacs stats and one more click of 'I'll show you impervious'. Hulk smash.......Brainiac devastate!!!!!
