Would the 350 pt version of this guy get to keep his defense power if he was hit by Atrocitus(dc 75th version) while he was on his special defense power? Im thinking it would be the same thing as if Blackadam from the superman set was hit by him while on that power, but im not sure if it would be the same for this guy. Thoughts?
He'd keep the stop-click portion. His defensive power prevents ignore effects and counter effects but not replacement effects.
Just ordered one on Friday, and when I got him, his eyes were painted on all meat up, so one is over his nose and the other is on his right temple. Not cool.
I have not lost a single game with this figure. Every game I play with Brainiac, I win by a humongous margin, period. In my book, he is a five star character!
If someone would've pulse waved him, would he still have his Impervious roll? And would the pulse wave damage be reduce? Given that he's on his second clix for both question.

Yes,. his power overrides Pulse Wave. Pulse Wave ignores powers and game effects, but Brainiac's special defense specifically states that it cannot be ignored. Therefore, Brainiac treats Pulse Wave like any other attack.
This guy is nuts. Finally a brainiac worthy of of his name and capable of being a one man army. Recently played this guy against some powerful avengers. The rest of my team was destroyed....brainiac single handedly fought and killed most avengers taking no damage at all. The one weakness he has is his first click....completely useless with mastermind. Who would want to preserve a click that can do nothing but perplex? My opponent just avoided brainiac....why hit him to his better clicks? That's when I realize that his first click is his bane.....it hurts to be forced to push off of your first ' stop turning the dial' click in order to be useful in a match.

You could just push him and choose not to use willpower...Problem solved. Which I see you mention, so Im not sure why it matters, just use the first click to get him in to position.

Problem solved? Its a waste of a click! The way he was designed is pretty annoying. Not only do you have to ignore will power and push which ties yourself up until you rest next turn. But your pushing yourself to do what exactly? Nothing! You have to wait three consecutive turns before you can do anything useful. By the time you rest you have already been shot at at least once and that puts brainiac on his third click. I pay 350 points for an 11 click character that moves 4 squares, pushes himself and gets hit early on starting the game with 9 clicks and only two stop turning the dial clicks. By pushing your opening up alot more problems to be fixed you know what I mean? Poor design for such an awesome figure.
this guy plus utility belt is one of the most brutal combos i've ever seen. Prep time to Flurry click and ignore indom, he get's to his sweet click, and one of the most evil alpha strikes i've ever seen. Unfortunately i'm probably not going to play him again just due to how much my buddy hated it. haha.
"Are you an alcoholic? or a problem drinker?" "yes."

that was pretty brutal. super senses made me feel a little better but not even being able to do damage took that feeling away real fast.
I know it's nitpicky, but I'm not really sure why people keep saying to choose not to use willpower to push him off of his first click. There is no choice. He does not have willpower on his first click. He has Earthbound on his first click, which not only affects flyers and giants, but also sharpshooters and characters with indomitable.

Good point! Great observation on earthbound, you are correct. However the point remains the same....push him off his first click to make him more useful in a battle scenario.

Your "buddy" is not the only one that hates it. Resources are a slap in the face of any Honor driven respectable gamer. Its OVERkill with an UNDERCOSTED point value. For now on when I see a resource, my opponent will see my Chanos. Im going to nip the resource dial turning in the butt early on...just teleport the tentpole with a resource and destroy him. Thanos will most likely be hurt or killed as the two highest point characters are staring him down....but after all is said and done, when all three tentpole are dead and the resource negated.....then and only then will the true match begin.
I have the distinct impression that penetrating damage works on Braniac's "I'll Show You Impervious" power, and here's why:
Penetrating damage is damage dealt that can’t be reduced (such as by the Toughness power), but can be evaded, ignored, increased, or transferred to another character.
His power states that it cannot be countered or ignored. Penetrating damage does not ignore reducers, technically. It simply cannot be reduced. Cannot overrides can.
So, where Brainiac's ultra-reducer would actually count for Pulse Wave (because Pulse Wave ignores powers), it would still be susceptible to penetrating damage of any kind.
However, by the wording of the power, you would still only do a max of 1 damage to him as long as the next click revealed the power again. All in all, this amounts to getting rid of Brainiac's reducer of 2 and his chance to ignore all damage with the 5-6.

Yes, penetrating would ignore the impervious part (making it incapable of being ignored). But, you are correct, if his power appeared on the next click, you would stop turning the dial. That means you have to hit him (and cause damage) 4 times to get to a point where outwit would work on his defensive power. He's a load to handle.
