This guy, FI Dr Strange, ASM Wong, FI Colossus, WatX Spiral, and the book of the Skull with 4 hammers of your choosing. Brutal, brutal 700pt team. Went 3-0 today at my venue, even taking down the JLA team base. Never felt so good winning until that game.

Broken. Think about what kind of player you are if you have to field him to win. Especially with resources in competitive OP.

This thing is clearly undercosted for the amount of violence it brings to bear for a mere 200 points. The 5 square reach is obscene, giving it nearly total ability to make attacks even without line of fire. Granting it flurry with that reach is simply too much, especially with those damage values. Cosmic and Mystics TA round out to something ridiculous. The only possible weakness here is a short dial.

Compare this dial to other 200 point dials and you might think differently. His reducers are very bad after the first click and he only has a single click of hypersooic speed.he can be taken out with two consectutice psychic blast clicks...all of shumas dials are OVERCOSTED based on the lack of multi attack and other elements.

However....what REALLY makes him stand out are the combinations of his trait and specials. His double ta also increases his point cost...don't get me wrong ...I have DOMINATED with the 1000 point dial and this 200 point dial. I koed a bubble magneto and Colossus/juggernaut from fear itself in two turns! But his severely short dial is well enough balance. There are cheaper figures that have longer dials than this. And TWO of his 7 clicks are regeneration clicks ..so he really only has 5 battle ready clicks. Although I do love that he can incap on his regent clicks, giving him offense options as he heals.

I think the people claiming Shuma is "broken" are way off the mark.

He's a glass cannon. He can be absolutely devastating with the amount of damage he can put out, but he's also very fragile at the same time. I've seen him KO twice his points worth of characters, and I've also seen him go down in one turn. It really depends on match-ups and how it's played.

I think Shuma is a great figure all around. Fun to play as, & can be a challenge to play against. I agree that he's very good, not quite "broken" on his own. When you add a mole man to the equation, then Shuma is phasing across the map to deliver 10 dmg via 12 AV with PC to make it stick. Now he's sitting pretty to attack every turn w/ the triple threat of mystics & power cosmic TAs plus colossal stamina. Not many 300 pt teams that can handle that unless you build specifically to handle the initial alpha strike.

Alone it is quite weak, but with a good combination can be a real monster. I only played it once on a 400 pts tournament:

Shuma Gorath 200 + Ancient One + Dr. Strange (75 pts) + Wong + Mkraan Crystal

I won all matches just by all the Probability Controls and highly increased defense values, but it was really hard to keep Shuma alive.

Who else can't wait for Mole Man to be retired? :)

I enjoy my army of mole men + Shuma. I feel like Tellus will fill in admirably, especially with the added range via Telepathic Link. Wildcard to boot, and throw on the cowl if stealth is deemed necessary.

one shotted shuma in worlds qualifiers last year with skadis warbot w/belt and one item and help from gizmo. got my damage to six and crit hit. shuma is good but like vlad stated before he can go down quick to

Wait, what? Rule of three. The increased damage from a critical hit still counts as part of the three.
