I faced a Klingon Force of; Flagship Koraga/LE Martok
Negh'Var/Worf
B’Rel-Class/Klingon
We both went in slow to start and eliminated all of the OWPs it went fairly quick as the Koranak can attack 2 different ones with one attack (although I have to remember to use a scan action with I didn't on turn 1! ) and once that was done we moved quickly to get to it.
First round of combat was big. Activated Tetryon Emissions with DuKat and used Captured Intelligence and evaded a huge 5 hits on the Koranak. He didn't hit much (still has shields on the Kraxon) and I think I damaged the Neghvar and the Koraga.
Second round of combat was the beginning of Dukat flying drunk. For the next 3-4 turns I kept ramming into my own ships. But he also was able to fly into the klingons as well on occasion.............the 'shark circling' was doing it's job though and keeping the targets in my firing arc for the most part......and the few turns where I couldn't the Dorsal weapons let me attack when my opponent couldn't.
Not bad....I will say that the 'other ship' on the force having 4 attack dice is a nice change of pace.......not sure if the maneuverability is a good trade, but the attack value is nice. Have to take them out again for a few more games but they looked promising.
Things I learned
The Kornank and the sidekick Kraxon
Yup, thought they would play well together. Glinn Telle is also a nice help (Shroud, from the Battle ship, is going to make him usable multiple times!) . Although before I play them again I'm going to have to work on how to keep Dukat from bumping into the Kraxon. Just not familiar enough with the formation flying with that many banks.
Shark Circling
It worked.......against a much more maneuverable force. But the reason it worked was the 180° firing arc. With out that it would probably have gotten ugly............sadly that is not an asset the 4th Division Battleship has. I'm not sure about it's play-ability right now. I'm anxious to hear about how they do in the field though.
Obviously I'll need to try it out more in a competative setting but the Circling seems to at least help.
Tetryon Emissions and Captured Intelligence
Love them both. Good defense is hard to come by in this game but I think Gul Evek with Cloaking and/or TEs might be a good start............Gul Dukat with CI and TE with the Kraxon backing him up is quite effective.
One more event to go in the Dominion War.....
Back to my Faction...the Romulans and I think I'll give the Attack Squadron a try as well (stand in for the Scorpion Class fighters )
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
