Better than X-men, X-Men 3 and Wolverine Origins, but not near as good as X-2 or First Class. It was a really good movie until Logan reached the top of the hill after fighting all those ninja. Once he had to fight sexy snake lady and giant robot samuri, the movie started tanking fast. It was like two different films really. The last half hour was just dumb. But everything before that was really awesome. I loved the stuff at the begining with the bearl. lol
I'll go with 7.75 out of 10. Much, much better than xmen origins wolverine, which was terrible on most levels.
The only real complaint I have is, why is Viper even in this movie? Not really necessary, she doesn't add anything or have any purpose for being there.
Also, the Macguffin is a little silly in my opinion.
Other than that, I thought the character development was well done, I cared about Yukio and Mariko, and I thought it was interesting having Wolverine be vulnerable. We both liked it.
viper and silver samurai were partners in the comics
unimpressed..... reminded me of a low budget 70's action movie where the mooks all wear sunglasses to hide their inability to act....
Didn't like what they did to Silver Samurai and"I thought adamantium is unbreakable? unshatterable, indestructible, etc, etc... Even in the movies it's kinda been established that once it hardens it don't break or bend...ever.
3/10....only thing missing was yellow gym suits on the bad-guys... maybe give them motorcycle helmets to wear too.......
Yes, but you're a surrealist! I'm a normal guy!
Gil Zoo Crew or bust!
Admittedly, I haven't seen an x-men film since X-men United, so I think that I can be on fair ground when I say that as a regular movie, The Wolverine really impressed me. However, I think that we can all agree that this is really a comic book movie, so the need to be harsher based on the comic book origins is a real put off to some.
That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It had an irregular pace, but it was one that I enjoyed from the opening fight to the end when Xavier and Magneto revealed themselves in the mid credits, and it does leave you on a high note for Days of Future Past. With all that said, I do not like how the Silver Samurai was portrayed in the film. It was basically a giant life support system for a man that was determined to take away Logan's power.
Finally got around to seeing this one, and I enjoyed it. I was a little miffed about the whole cutting off Wolverine's adamantium claws business, especially since he seemed to have them back in Days of Future Past. Fun movie if you don't over analyze it. Wish I had seen it before Days of Future Past.
Keep in mind the scenes in DoFP where Wolverine has his metal claws, is years and years after the end of The Wolverine, during which time Magneto is there with him, so Logan getting his adamantium claws back between the two films is fairly easily assumed.

This was actually one of my gripes about DoFP as well. It was a reasonablly good film, but I also thought the claws being back was hokey given it was never explained.
