There's a 300 point modern WKO event coming up at my local game shop.
I'm having some trouble coming up with some teams for the event.
The main idea I had was using shredder clone w/ Ocean Resurrection (85 points) and having him pilot the Spider-Buggy (50 points) to extend his dial a little. I'm not sure what support pieces to add along with him.
Or if you think I should go a different route I wouldn't mind the suggestion.
Of couse any and all input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and have a great day.
Having Shredder drive the buggy means he can't use his Shredder Elite trait and that's why you'd run him.
The spider buggy (or even just the old dune buggy) is best driven by a guy like this
Basically it can take his attack and damage numbers, and even his super strength and hit very hard.

The usual: retaliators out the ying-yang, Call-Ins and Exospex. May see some Darwins, too; if so limit the PaP's as much as you can until you can remove the fool.

Fair enough on not using objects. His super strength can still add some value though, picking it allows you to do Knockback damage

I cannot imagine a better legacy for my cousin.
1) Shredder Clone can do his Shredder elite trait to deal damage after being carried. If you have the Hulk or Molly drive a vehicle, you could use that to get him in their face to do damage. This seems like a good way to tie your two ideas together.
This still gives you 135 points to play with. One problem I see, though, is that Dune Buggy's defense is very low, and Green Arrow can blow it right past its STOP click.
2) What ID cards do you have access to? Clone is 75 points and can call in some of the better call-ins.
3) Retaliation. You will play against it. Have a plan for how to deal with it! (even if you sidestep Clone next to one of them, remember that they may have another one...) Also, unless you are running a themed team, I would play a colossal retaliator or two of your own.
4) Shredder Clone's best keyword is generally thought to be Ruler, since you can run AIG025 Groot, and TMTG001 Surtur, along with tons of other fun options (like Witch Queen La Fey from Battleworld).
4a) Don't bend yourself out of shape trying to get theme. Themed Teams get map bonus, but often a normal dedicated prob piece is better than Themed-Team probs (which only come from named theme anyway).
5) Practice, practice, practice! I would rather run a good team that I've actually played and know inside and out than a "great" team that I threw together the night before the event.
I.D Cards: I don't have much Just a Stom, Goldballs, Harley Quinn, and Two-Face
Retaliations: I have Giant-Girl, Yamir, Titano, Ameridroid, Dommamu, Heart of the Avengers Waasp.
For prob I'm considering to pick up TMNT20 #29 Renet Tilley as a dedicated prob piece, if not maybe use Doop.
Yeah I'll be definitely be practicing, I'm just not great with team synergy when I'm picking pieces. I don't have in depth understanding of how to view and how they work together lol

Starting with IDs, Storm gives you the longest range if you have the LE (wkM17-011) and can come out at 150 or 100 depending on your main attacker(s). Not as diverse, but far cheaper than Chase Cyclops or Chase Jean Grey and even their cheaper Black Bird IDs.
The common BtAS Two-Face is pretty nice too, especially if you're using him to KO an opponent's 1-click Retaliator or if you have some Perplex on your team. His 75pt cost allows you to not have to field a 100pt piece on your main team.
The BtAS common Harley gets you Outwit and a 6-range, 3Dam too. If you already own the rare or SR prime she can be useful as a striker.
I stress Running Shot largely because if you use Ameridroid's Ragdoll you may be able to throw someone into a hive of attackers on your side of the map.
Renet is a great piece! Lets add a Buggy and Molly Hayes...
I would say maybe a HSS with some range (so they don't have to base and potentially fail breakaway) and a TK'er (to fling them) could be your simple way to balance the convoluted elements with the "point and click".
This is looking awesome!!! I'm thinking of spending some extra points for the Spider-Mobile cause some of its extra defensive. And it looks like I can add in another retaliator. I'm thinking Titano or Giant-girl.
Thanks Batman!!!
On my next paycheck I'll see if I can get me a storm for my Id card
