So I know the Old Maid team was an idea (anonym0use) back when Chaos War dropped - as a quick refresh the 397 point build was:
100 CW018 Jinku
40 CW033 Victoria Hand
80 CW102 Invisible Woman
58 GX015 Tabitha Smith
34 IH017 A.I.M. Renegade
34 IH017 A.I.M. Renegade
38 IH003 A.I.M. Agent
13 GG014 Astral Dr. Strange
Now, don't get me wrong, I think the idea is great! However, as someone who didn't start playing until the end of the No Man's Land tournaments I don't really have too many pieces from Chaos War - mind you, these pieces are cheap online and usually my teams are thrown together two or three days before a tournament - so what would be more of an updated version keeping Invisible Woman and Victoria Hand?
I feel a bit wonky since it relies heavily on object wielding Captain Marvel being able to nerf the opponent's scariest piece asap; you all know how fickle dice are! The Orange lanterns create a barrier each turn once you push Hand enough to gift her to the opponent and smoosh the lanterns with Hand and Invisible Woman in the corner.
Any variations that seem less luck reliant? It seems to take forever for Hand to turn traitor and about half of my points are taking the brunt of the damage. Also, this team is bad against anything that can continuously throw out 0 point pogs since the opponent can just kill a pog and pop another one out during timed games.
So you need a quick way to damage Victoria Hand?
new-ish characters that can damage her:
If you use Print-and-Play/Golden Age you can use this Feat on a low-point friendly: it only pings for one damage, but maybe you could use it on 2 characters?
then you have either :
300-point team with a 50point attacker
or 400-point team with Baron Blood & 45points worth of stuff (if you feed Victoria to Baron he powers up!)
turn 1: the two Ravagers with Call to Arms each ping Victoria, 400 point team w/ Baron: Baron Blood uses her to regen, then OLC Barriers her in! OR 300 point team: your 50-point attacker moves
300 point team:turn 2: one of the Ravagers pushes to damage her and the OLC barriers her in
at either the 300 or 400 point level she's traitored and barriered in by turn 2, which should cause your opponent a headache!
