Hope I'm not too late. I'm also very bad at the game so these ideas are gonna be bad, but fun. The local event for me is 600 so I'm building for that right now. I'm sure lower versions of these ideas may work. Maybe I'll work on them this weekend. I really need to test these ideas.
Been a minute for me so here's hoping I remember formatting. Teams are in no particular order.
Also, I don't know how to do build in post and don't want to type out all my characters so I'll just have an imgur link of them. Sorry. It feels too long to put dials for each of them.
Every Bad B Movie has the same elements... a hero, a monster, and a femme fatale that gets them all in trouble. Would you survive a B Movie?
Players will bring a constructed 300-point modern age team for tournament play with exactly 5 main force characters from the following types: a Monster, a Scientist, a Hero, a Sidekick, and a Femme Fatale; all additional game elements are legal.
MAIN FORCE (monster, sidekick, warrior, scientist, femme fatale)
I have this team from all eras where they are the Universal Monsters, but they're not because they are from a mix of DC and Marvel. 98 AA041 Frankenstein
75 JLTW024 I, Vampire
81 ASM015 Werewolf By Night
60 ASM025 Manphibian
92 ASM011 Living Mummy
-----
406 points
if you wanted to you could have them battle their counterparts in the Undead series 50 UND012 Skeleton Champion
35 UND017 Jacob Marley
30 UND015 Vampire Baron
60 UND019 Frankenstein's Monster
30 UND002 Dr. Frankenstein
150 WKWK-005 Abominable Snowman
15 UND001 Zombie
25 UND010 Zombie Shambler
395 points
I think the DC/Marvel team will probably beat the more generic Undead, but who knows? The monsters from the old ASM set would always beat other teams in that set from what I remember.
So I ended up playing this "monster" theme team. This was a 400 point event but we use a discount formula for silver age figures. If the card has a dial on the back multiply by 0.9 point cost, round down to nearest 5 point increment. If no dial on the card then use 0.85. This helps make older figures more viable and encourages their use. So this team adds up to 400 points.
I played two rounds plus a bye round. This was a solid and fun team! My dice were hot first round and swept a WWE team. Second round they went to time but lost against a robot team with Nimrods, prime and Lesser, and Arcade and a few Danger room constructs. But had a good time regardless.
I was surprised to see no one had posted the Wandavision Spooktacular team yet. I didn't think they'd be that nasty, but they're very Halloween-y. Then I played them today and they beat everyone, including a full-pointed Knull with Venom Magneto (Tommy making Knull drop All-Black so the family could use their shape change & super senses saved the day).
Marvella is there to fill points and be a keyworded taxi. Darkhold on Agnes, Cloak on Pietro to assist in breakaways when throwing on those free tokens.
our Halloween map contained 3-D terrain, including dozens of tombstones, that we deemed heavy objects.
Highlight of my game was Changing with Tombstone, picking up a tombstone along the way, and making a successful attack.
